My new years resolution this year is to make more effort with my appearance. Who wants to join me?

I've never really worn make up, styled my hair or bothered with how I look. That was fine when I was young and fresh. Now I'm 34 (nearly 35) and I want to look good. I have just tried to curl my hair (and failed) and sorted out my make up, throwing out stuff that doesn't suit me.

Too cold, I went for warmth today as I was off to a farmers market so leggings, denim skirt, grey poloneck, norley cedar boots with my navy parka and big leopard print scarf, nothing special at all.
trampy sorry to hear your still unwell hopefully you'll be better and totally glamourous soon.
*remus, loving the sound of your outfit, you seem very organised with how you out them all together.
Nipped into asda on the way home from the market gor a couple of bits and found a nice top for work, it is quite a soft material with a pocket on front, gold zip on back. It was only £6 but I work in retail and clothes can get wrecked easily so I begrudge spending much, however I do love my job as I get a great discount on shoes.
I have a voucher for no7 so I will making good use of that this week coming I think.

My 3 year old insisted on my outfit today. Hmm... she didn't do too badly, but it was only once I was out of the door I realised she'd chosen it so I looked as much like her as possible! It was a denim dress, over a white v neck vest, thick cream tights with a holey pattern, and knee high riding boots in tan. It was ok till I added huge white puffa type coat and furry hat, then I really did look like a snowman.
Now we've had a long snowy walk with snowball fights and a bit of lunch I'm hoping to snuggle down in front of the fire and not be dragged out again for tobogganing.
Hope you are having fun in the snow today.

Been out for a walk this morning, so dressed for warmth in jeans, wellies and a hoodie etc.

Off to take dd to a restaurant and the cinema later. I think I'm going to wear wellies again tbh - But I will team them with:

green and black striped jumper dress
opaque tights (with woolly ones underneath!)
thermal socks (!)
khaki and black scarf
parka
black cashmere mix beret
lots of red lipstick and dark eyeliner and mascara
khaki nail varnish
black leather cuff

I am aiming for Beatnik/Mod but with added common sense! :)

Oh, I need to get my haircut (can't remember the last time, probably a year)

It's all one length, no layers, no fringe. At the moment it's down past my collarbone.
I'm thinking collar length bob, then I can still tie it back (needs to be off my face for work).
I did have a fringe years back, but growing it out is a pain.
And I don't want short hair (been there)

I usually dive into Supercuts when the mood grabs me.
Trouble with hairdressers is I can't stand the background music and it's just me. So I avoid them.

Went for a lovely see through cream chiffon blouse today over a long vesty dress with opague tights but I still stuck with my norley cedar boots as they are thd warmest footwear I have. Wore them with a smart navy waxy jacket, cream scarf and beret. Makeup done, hair done.

I, m going to have a pamper night tonight all nails will be done, all over body exfoliated and oil applied, face mask and hair treatment.

I'm like you 70s I'll be putting a dye on my hair next week, not sure what colour orcshade yet though, I am usually blonde but last october started going darker and now I am a dark brown. I can hear a box of caramel colour maybe calling my name.

worn do you use something like ColourB4 if you go brown -> caramel?

I'll get the cut before I do anything else because I've got a bit of old dye so my roots are naked hair .

I'm coveting dark red / auburn (brown eyes, brown hair, pale freckled skin) but I know it's a high maintenance colour so not sure.

I'm not sure if I need to tbh, I had blonde bleached highlights before and as the brown dulls it is slowly turning like an auburn colour in some lights I think this 8s down to the previous highlights. I have a friend in work who I usually talk to before hand as she gives great advice about colouring, if there is a colour she has tried it.

Well, I made half an effort today - does that count?! Little bit of make up, hair dried curly so not really styled. Denim skirt, thick black tights and black suede pirate boots, black vest, pale gold jumper and a black and gold scarf. Bump seems to have had a growth spurt so struggling to find clothes that fit!! No snow here so at least didn't have to think about footwear too much.
Need to decide on what to do with my hair though, no real style and just scrape it back most of the time as I can't even be bothered to straighten my fringe. I don't suit not having a fringe so this is bad...

Ha ha - nope! The LetMe budget doesn't allow for anything Westwood should probably have said 'pirate -style' boots...

Phew - I thought I was going have to sell my soul to get some. No point if they're not very nice though. Saves an eBay posting.

You all sound so glamorous, especially given the weather! Today I went for grey leggings (Boden), blue jumper dress (Joules), knee-length stripey socks (Boden), brown leather Uggs and a big blue Parka! V unfabulous, yet practical....

So gymnastics class was...er...interesting! I had fun until I attempted to jump over the vault but instead slammed straight into it and busted my knee. And I ache sooooooooo much I can barely move. Ouch!

Another here who'd love a pair of pirate boots.... Ive just bought a pair of similar style, they were meant to arrive on fri but obv the snow put a stop to that! I should get them tomorrow! As much as Id love a pair of vw ones I cant spend that much on a pair of boots. Plus in any case my money goes on tattoos and lipstick Maybe I can save up and treat myself at xmas....

Today Im in my knitted dress (again) however Im thinking of going and putting on a black one, and some orange tights. Only thing is if I venture out I'll be in purple boots and usual orange lippy so a bit clashy but what the hell. My hair is in a side plait, and Im wearing the usual black mascara and flicky eyeliner combo.

I have had a hard talk to myself and have had to admit I am no longer a teenager (I'm 53!) so really should make sure I have a decent skincare routine. Just cos I have an oily t zone does not mean the end of hte world and using oil free stuff. I have been neglecting the dry areas for too long.

Got my hair cut and coloured on Friday. It is really quite a bright auburn so I'm still getting used to it - still get a surprise when I look in the mirror.
I was away with two friends for the weekend and spent a lot of time eating which won't have done much for the weight loss. We did go for a huge long walk along the beach with the dogs (freezing!) so hopefully that will have reduced the damage slightly.
Just went online and ordered this dress. It looks quite short on the model and I don't have the legs to just wear it with tights so it will need to be leggings underneath. Although when I was in Asda today I saw they had 300 denier tights - they might be ok?
I also ordered this snood for no reason other than I like it. Bad habit to buy things without a plan of what it'll go with but it wasn't expensive (she says justifying it to herself).
I've also ordered some new cleanser and moisturiser which should come in the next couple of days so hopefully that will help combat this cold weather.

Oh and a local salon is doing a special offer on Shellac during January so I'm getting a manicure on Wednesday. Gosh, I've been good to myself the last few days!

Im being pretty lax whilst the snow is around, the pavements were like bloody glass this morning! Really not looking forward to going out again later to pick the kids up... Makeup and hair nice enough, lots of layers, a pair of brown leather stompy boots, and a burgandy wool duffel coat. At least I was warm

Boring (and foul tempered today) as I had to trudge to work in the snow, despite nearly all other schools being closed. The pavements are just solid sheets of ice and the roads were virtually empty.

At least you made the effort Remus! Did you wear wellies to get to work though? I am trying to imagine someone trudging in the snow whilst wearing a pencil skirt and heels. It is an odd image to say the least!
I made next to no effort today - no make up, hair scraped back, black skinny jeans, white long sleeved t-shirt and white bump band, black jumper (that resembles a crop top as my tummy is now too big) and a colourful grey, turquoise, white and pink scarf. Worn with grey long boots. Did not look tidy but was warm and comfy...
