Dressing for your shape- quite athletic, broad shoulders, large norks, no waist and very slim hips

I'm having a nightmare with clothes. The nearest city to me is crap. Just Debenhams, Dotty P's, a small Topshop, small H&M and a River Island and Primark. Sad Not much choice.

So, I buy clothes online, which never look good on account of me being a funny shape. Jeans and trousers are the worst for this. I am slim, an 8 to 10, but I am also quite short. I exercise regularly and I am naturally quite sinewy and muscular. I have broad shoulders and big norks, but I don't really have a waist and my hips are very narrow.

I'm always having to send things back that don't fit properly. Being between sizes is also awkward. Any suggestions, or does anyone else have this kind of shape? If so, where do you shop and what do you wear?

Marking my spot!

Uniqlo. I buy all my tops from there (S - am an 8/10 and quite athletic like you), and they also do good dresses. It's all quite basic, ie not very well fitted, so it suits an unusual body type. I think it looks quite classic. Then you can jazz it up with jewellery if necessary!

They're not so good on the trousers - I find I always have to wear a belt. I have a similar no waist problem to you so trousers just fall down and expose whatever my stomach feels like doing that day. I recently bought some emergency jeans from Zara and was shocked to find they are a perfect fit!

Cos are also quite good, although their sizes are MASSIVE.

Thanks Extraminty. I've only recently discovered Uniqlo, although the pair of trousers I want in the colour I want aren't available. Xmas Angry

There was a Zara where I used to live, the sizes were variable, depending on the rise of the jeans or trousers. Hipsters came up large because of the no-hips thing, but higher waisted ones were massive on the hips and legs.

What style of jeans did you buy from Zara if you don't mind me asking?

I bought Zara basic skinny jeans in a size 10 - they don't have many distingusihing features but I think they're these ones:

(obviously, I don't look anything like the model, but they are still a very good fit)

Thanks Extraminty!

Jeans that fit properly are worth their weight in gold.
