Urban Decay Naked Palette?

JohnSnowsTie · 23/12/2012 23:50

Anyone have this, and would you recommend?

I've heard good things about it, and after spending the last couple of years experimenting with various MAC brights, I've come to the conclusion that it's neutrals that suit me best...

A friend of mine bought it on holiday and it's great. But try this dupe: the MUA Undressed palette

T'is awesome, great pigment. I use mine every day. And it's 10% of the price of the Urban Decay one.

I got it for my birthday and TBH I'm underwhelmed. It's nice,I honestly don;'t think it's worth the money.

ViperInTheManger · 24/12/2012 00:32

My DD has the Naked palette and DSIL has Naked2, both of them swear by it and say they don't need any other eye shadows for any look.

F0xyLady · 24/12/2012 00:40

I can't see how every look is covered by one naked palate. I have the naked2 palate, and it's all beige / browns, which I find quite dull and "worky".

When I go out I prefer silver / grey and blacks.

I have the naked 2 and I really like it. Buying the original naked for my SIL for Christmas.i think they are great palettes - good colours, neutral but not totally boring, wear well and don't crease or fade too much. Get the primer potion too to make it even better.

essexmumma · 24/12/2012 02:18

I love the naked palette and hoping I get naked 2 for Christmas. If you like the neutral look then they are fab and not all beiges there are browns, a grey/black colour and gold tones. Very versatile. The shadows are really lovely and stay put especially I you use the primer potion you get free with the palette.

They have launched recently naked basics which is a smaller version and has some gorgeous tones in. Maybe try this first? It's cheaper too.

I have Naked 1 and the new Naked which isn't naked 2
I'm 40 now and tbh natural enhancement makes me look youngest

ggirl · 24/12/2012 12:09

i got dd the naked basic matte that is new out
it looks good but be warned it's tiny and no brush included

ScooseIsAChristmasGoose · 24/12/2012 12:17

I have the naked 2 and love it for every day. I use the urban decay smoked palette for a more evening look. I also have the NYC palette which has a bit of everything I think that is discontinued now but the vice palette is similar.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 24/12/2012 14:29

I've got Naked One and absolutely love it. The MUA stuff is really, really not a patch on it.

You can do lots of different combos, including black and a silvery grey smoky eye with it. Other than that, for none Naked days, I really like a green one they do: I think it's called Mildew.

StinkyWicket · 26/12/2012 00:10

I've got Naked 2 and love it. I find it extremely versatile and I love UD shadows (although have only bought from ebay). F0xyLady there is a jet black and TWO silvers in the Naked 2 - how can you not love it??!

Apparently UD are bringing out a Naked matte palette with about 8 shadows in it. Personally, I like a bit of shimmer on my eye.

Binfullofgibletsonthe26th · 26/12/2012 00:15

I have the Naked palette and I love it. There are greys in it, and also glitter shades so I find it great for day, work and evenings.

ZacharyQuack · 26/12/2012 08:31

Beautybay.com have both the Naked palettes and the new Basics palette on special at the moment.

ZacharyQuack · 26/12/2012 08:32

I covet all three UD palettes, but I've just bought a couple of Stila palettes which have very similar shades, so I can't justify buying any more.

vjg13 · 26/12/2012 09:39

Really love the Naked palette, would definitely recommend.

Autumn12 · 26/12/2012 09:49

I have the Naked palette and like it, but my experience is that you end up with glittery buts all over your face as most of the eye shadows are shimmery. I've tried everything to try and stop ending up with a sparkly face but nothing seems to stop it from happening. A couple of my friends have it and say the same.

ohfunnyFRANKENface · 26/12/2012 10:31

I got naked basics from my sister and love it. Very creamy shadows.

Just need some new mac brushes to apply them!

LarkinSky · 26/12/2012 11:51

I love the Naked palette, it's the best I've ever had and I can't imagine needing any other eyeshadow colours. The brush and the base/serum stuff are great too. However, I agree that a couple of the shades do leave glittery bits on your face below your eyes.

I bought mine on Easyjet for £25: worth looking out for next time you fly!

StinkyWicket · 26/12/2012 12:36

Autumn that really surprises me, I never get glitter fallout from mine (but mine is Naked 2). I always use the UD primer which is amazing!

FunnysFuckingFreezing · 26/12/2012 12:43

I have it and do like it. It's good quality but think its overpriced really. Plus I don't use all of the colours as the dark ones are too chalky for me and not smooth enough. Maybe I am too old for it..........

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 26/12/2012 17:48

Mine is Naked 1 but no glittery face.

wintera · 27/12/2012 20:34

Love both of my naked one and two palettes. Also have Smoked and hubby bought me the Vice palette for Christmas. Love them all. Urban decay is my new favourite make up brand!

Ilovewaleswhenitrains · 27/12/2012 21:03

I have the Naked 2 pallet and I love it. I watched a few tutorials
on YouTube to give me some inspiration on how to use the colours.

Whitershadeofpale · 27/12/2012 21:48

Of you get fallout I would suggest doing your eye makeup before anything else then run under your eyes with a wipe or cleanser on cotton wall and then apply your base. I have naked 2 and like it a lot but unless you own very few eyeshadows already I don't think you will use it ever day.

Autumn12 · 29/12/2012 10:35

I've tried the primer and I've tried applying my base afterwards but still the sparkly face! From friends experiences and reading online it seems a common occurrence.
