highlights done but not so sure! advice please

i had dark blonde hair that i have grown really long as i never have time or money for the hairdressers. i have just been to the hairdressers as im going to a wedding on saturday and had highlights put in . she used some sort of tint and some cream bleach (she said) .

the only other time i have coloured my hair was years ago and there was no bleach involved with those highlights.

i am not sure i like this colour it looks rather white and my skin tone seems all odd now in comparison ! am i going to live to regret this ?

can you advise me on washing it , is there any particular shampoo i should use ? (or not use )

I always find my highlights stand out straight after they have been done. Once you have washed and dried your hair you will find they blend in much more.

Will look different because it is something different - you'll possibly need to wear some blusher to give your face a bit more colour. But honestly wait until you have washed it once or twice and it should calm down.

If you then really hate it, just get some low lights put through to tone it down
And anything that lightens your hair needs bleach - you can't lighten hair without it.

thanks for the advice . i think youre right about the blusher . i am pale and it looks more noticable now but i will stick a bit of gradual tanner and blusher on .
dont hate it exactly just much brighter than i remembered last time ! will try to get a pic on later when i can use the pc , cant do pics on this old netbook thingummy im using at the mo.

go back, she may be able to put a toner into it to make it a slightly more flattering shade

well now you mention toner...
i think the hairdresser may have screwed up , whilst i was at the backwash i heard her say something about something being not quite how she expected (probably the colour of my hair) she then asked the other girl to get her some toner.
when i asked her what she was doing she said she uses toner to make it look that bit more special.
my hair is blonde anyway and i asked for it to just look natural and sunkissed. last time it was a tint , not a bleach they used.
i fear my hair will be in crap condition now. feels a bit straw like !

I wouldn't go back to that hairdresser- everyone makes mistakes but to lie about it like that is preeeetty bad.

I went to get my hairdressers this week and they turned my hair purple. The hairdresser went while she was washing it out, "this isn't right- it's come out a bit...purpley". Even after emergency toner it was still a very distinct shade of burgundy for a day before I could go back so they could fix it properly. But I'll be back because it was a genuine mistake and they didn't try to shit me with saying, "oh it's ok, it'll wash down" or anything. And they fixed it for free, most importantly!

Purple shampoo will make it more ashy, if that will help to take any brassiness away.
