When you go does the beautician do the tops of your brows as well as the underneath. I am hacked off with having a lovely shape but shagging top brow. So many of them seem to do this now, the underneath only. Will put my tuppence worth in next time I go. I don't use this same salon, as work commitments mean I can't stick to a regular time. Maybe that's the answer find one good beautician and stick with them. Sorry rambling now.

Shaggy not shagging. Hmmm that would be novel.

From my experience threaders do the top, pluckers and waxers don't.

I think threading gets the best result but I am just too wimpy for it!

Same experience as cathy. I much prefer threading. Better shape and finish.

TantrumsAndBalloons · 19/12/2012 05:53

Threaders do the top. But it hurts.

EdwardtheEagle · 19/12/2012 05:55

Threaders do the top - I had one lady trim with scissors too Blush

butterfliesinmytummy · 19/12/2012 06:05

Threaders do the top, surely you go to have brows shaped and the top is half the job! Never heard of only having the underneath shaped. Normally have a trim of straggly hairs with scissors as part of threading, plus cooling cream.

CarpeJugulum · 19/12/2012 06:11

My waxer does both, but I have a naturally nice top line most of the time, so she's only dealing with strays at one point really.

I ask if I need it done.

Justmeandthebump · 19/12/2012 06:15

i go to Benefit make up counter in Debenhams. they wax below and pluck top.

MadAboutHotChoc · 19/12/2012 08:54

All of the threaders I use do both top and bottom

CelticPromise · 19/12/2012 09:01

Threader I go to does top and bottom. And charges about £3.50. She's great.Smile

Fimbo · 20/12/2012 00:01

Jeepers CelticPromise. I want your salon. I have it more recently that they are not doing the top and I have been to wimpy to say anything. Going to be more bold next time. Have to agree threading is better.

I go to Benefit brow bar too, they wax top and bottom for me, I've used them for ten years and try to avoid anywhere else.

TheElfOnThePanopticon · 20/12/2012 08:25

My threader charges 4 pounds, trims with scissors, threads top and bottom and with only a teeny amount of discomfort and blotching.

aimingtobeaperfectionist · 20/12/2012 08:46

You are specifically taught in college (or I was at the time, not sure if it's changed now) not to remove hairs from the top of the brow as this will affect the natural shape. As a rule I never waxed above but would often tweeze. I'd just tell her 'I want you to include the top of my brow please'.
