My hair dryer is rubbish (it's about 20 years old), and not nearly powerful enough, it just sort of breathes on my hair. grin I have longish hair and DD has long hair so it gets a lot of use.

Can anyone recommend a hair dryer?

You need a Parlux - fab driers and worth the money.

LittleFrieda · 18/12/2012 14:45

Thank you, Valium, I'll google those.

Agreed. I have the pink one - I love it and I don't even like pink usually!

That and a mason & Pearson hairbrush have really changed how my hair looks & how easy it is to do.

A compact 3500 is the one they use in salons and despite its name is a full size drier, you won't need anything more powerful unless you have hair down to your ankles!

Parlux - I got one on valiums recommendation and love it

Pricey but worth it

I have a Parlux 3500 on order - thank you all for your help.

This thread must be the first ever Mumsnet consensus.

Oooooo how exciting, what colour did you get?

When you use it keep it moving as it can get very hot as it's so powerful.

I went away at the weekend and borrowed my mil's drier - goodness it seemed to take forever to dry my hair!

Using a Parlux has knocked about 10 -15 mins off my drying time and makes my hair much less frizzy. Love it!

Valium - I think your mil has the same hair dryer as me. I got the black 3500 one with ceramic ionic, whatever that is. I now need a new hair brush...

Tk Max is the place for good hair brushes for a third of the normal price!

LittleFrieda · 19/12/2012 20:53

valium - thanks for all your help on this thread. I'll try TK Maxx for a new hairbrush.

I have a parlux which I love and was bought 10 years ago. Still works perfectly.

It will be a sad day when it goes to hairdryer heaven.
