so leather look leggings?

im 36 and fairly toned size 12, legs are definatley my best part. I have this tunic sparkly and the sales girl in topshop persuaded me to go for the leather look leggings to wear with it, as the dress is def more of a tunic. i can;t help feeling now that i will look ridiculous and like im trying to dress and look like a teenager, especially as i have just dyed my hair red. was going to wear it with wedged shoes and just a bracelet for accessories. leggings

should say this for an evening of dancing in a club like place (works event in a marquee with other companies, dinner and dance type event but emphasis on dance)

i love the leggings and the tunic, but not together, but i am not you etc. wear them like you don't give a damn and you will look great

chibi · 18/12/2012 10:37

i would wear a v simple top, leggings and aggressive looking shoes that i could still dance in. silver cuff for accessory

monkeysmama · 18/12/2012 10:39

I have several similar pairs and wear them in the day with a jumper. I'm the same age as you. I can't see the top but it sounds nice. I bet most women there will be in a variation of sparkly top & pleather leggings.

judefawley · 18/12/2012 10:42

I have got leather look leggings and I love them.

The tunic is lovely, but I don't think I'd wear it with the leggings. I'd keep the top half a bit plainer and not so long.

daisydoodoo · 18/12/2012 10:43

ok beginning to feel a bit better about it. the ladies i will be with vary from 20 to 40+ so good age range, all most definatley trendir than me. onfidence crisis after losing weight and slowly beginnin to realise i dont need to hide behind my trusty tea style and wrap dresses. i did consider buying this to go with the leggings beaded tunic instead but that might be a bit too dull safe

Jude, the dress is not long on me at all, barely mid thigh, im a tall so thats probably why, but i wouldnt wear the dress as a dress just with tights becasue of how short it is on me.

No to the second tunic!

The first one is really nice and cool, and so are the leggings, so keep them both but don't wear them together. I think for dancing you would look much cooler wearing the leggings with a slouchy long-sleeved top of some kind and, like a pp said, fuck-off shoes and a cuff. If you only want to keep one thing keep the leggings. More versatile.

theoriginalandbestrookie · 18/12/2012 15:14

I think the first tunic is lovely, but wouldn't work so well with the leather leggings.
But then I'm an old gimlet who doesn't think that leather leggings work so well with many things.

MoomieAndFreddie · 18/12/2012 17:08

I have those leggings!

I love them

personally i think neither of the tops would be great with them, i think you need a very simple top

i wear them with a grey slouchy H+M vest which just about covers my bum, massive high heels (black) and this scarf

its my fail safe outfit, i absolutely love it

MoomieAndFreddie · 18/12/2012 17:09

i mean for going out not just day to day school runs, tesco's etc, obvz Blush

NoWuckingFurries · 18/12/2012 17:20

I love those leggings and I think they'd look fab with a simpler top (but not that boring tunic Xmas Grin ). The dress / tunic is great too - I love a bit of sparkle at Christmas. Whatever you wear, wear it with confidence. That makes the biggest difference, even if you have to fake it at first!

As an aside, OP and MoomieAndFreddie how did those leggings size up? I'm now thinking of ordering a pair but don't know whether to go for the 10 or 12 (usually a 10). Thanks Xmas Smile

MoomieAndFreddie · 18/12/2012 17:36

hmm they come up quite small

am an 8 but bought a 10

daisydoodoo · 18/12/2012 18:00

I would have said true to size. I'm a 12 on the bottom and 12/14 on top due to large norks. I got a 12 they are very tight but figured they are supposed to be.

I'm thinking I will wear the sparkly tunic with plain black leggings heels etc for the club night and then the leather look leggings with a plain top for a more casual pub Christmas night out around town.

Lol daisy i have the large norks problem too :o

your outfits sound fab

ifancyashandy · 19/12/2012 07:55

I wore pleather leggings to work yesterday. I am 43. Go for it!

daisydoodoo · 19/12/2012 13:25

well new black leggings brought to go wih the tunic and fierce shoe boot/wedge type thigs. can;t find online but were very cheap in new look.

and slouchy top brought again from new look and some studded wedges. I feel more comfortable in the two seperate outfits rather than wearing the tunic and leather look leggings together. after years of being at can finally get a bit trendy (ier) :-)

MoomieAndFreddie · 19/12/2012 16:10
