Xmas night out nightmare!

Please help: OH's Xmas night out on the 21st and I desperately need a dress.
Problem: I'll be 31 weeks with PFB so no back ups in wardrobe. Ordered a dress from ASOS which arrived yesterday. It is absolutely hideous - I look like a stuffed black bin bag on boxing day. Even OH who never says I look bad in anything, took a sharp intake of breath when he saw it on!
I am a size 8/10 5"3 and luckily have a very flattering bump normally so looking for something to enhance curves not make me the same shape all round! Only one I like is £150 from Tiffany Rose. There is NO WAY I can spend anywhere near that much. £50 max.
Running out of time as live in middle of nowhere and have to factor in online delivery.
Any suggestions?

What will you be doing? Meal? Fancy party?

WillYuleDoTheFandango · 11/12/2012 11:18

Have you tried next they have a few nice ones and some are reasonably priced. You could also do next day delivery

I wore this Isabella Oliver one to a few dos when I was pg and it looked really good imo. You can dress it up with jewellery/shoes/bag and it's incredibly flattering if you're all bump but otherwise your usual sort of size. I'm the same height as you and usually size 6-8 and I felt really confident wearing it.

I know it's still over your budget but if you can stretch it there are usually some IO discount codes floating around, or it might be worth seeing if you can get a second hand one on ebay.

It is a meal. Would normally wear a party dress/cocktail dress.
Looked at next but they didn't strike me as formal enough. Seemed more work/day dresses. Will go back again now I am wearing desperation goggles. Maybe I am just being too fussy...
Thanks for the suggestion x

this? Maybe?

soaccidentprone · 11/12/2012 11:40

I second Next this one would be good - just wear a nice chunky necklace and maybe this over the top?

notMarlene · 11/12/2012 11:40

Sorry, over budget Blush But, probably wearable afterwards too - see here

I was going to suggest new look too. They have a few curve enhancing dresses like this or this. This is also nice but a bit over budget.

mimpet · 11/12/2012 11:48

Thanks for the suggestions. Looks like I may have to stretch the budget which means eating into accessories. However needs must!

The model is doing a bit of a ridiculous pose so ignore that but I've discovered that Seraphine have a cheaper version of the IO one I linked to earlier. I had a few work bits from Seraphine and found them good quality so this might be worth a try - and it's just about on your budget!

Here's another nice one too: Seraphine dress

MissCellania · 11/12/2012 12:10

this is great for only 20 pounds. Also available in black for 40.
