How much time do you spend on 'maintenance' every day?

How much time do you spend on your appearance / essential maintenance every day? I seem to struggle for time but when I examine closely I waste so much time doing nothing (and mumsnet). I am thinking of trying to make a routine of spending 10 minutes every evening when dd is in bed just on myself. I was thinking one evening eyebrows, another evening could be a mini pedi and polish.

Tell me about your routines - I would love to hear about them..

I work from home but feel better with clean hair and neat nails etc so:

  1. In the shower I always use those little scrubby mitts instead of overpriced body scrubs, and a body lotion after. Keeps me buttery smooth.
  2. In winter I add a tiny drop of oil to my moisturiser, if I'm not wearing makeup. If I am, it's a dab of Bobbi Brown foundation mixed with moisturiser (2 mins) plus I do my eyebrows (Benefit - light brown waxy) which holds them in place. If I don't do my eyebrows I look like a bland blob - I'm fair. (1 minute) Then a dab of Nars blush stick.
  3. Brush out hair and stick it in a messy - very messy updo (1 minute)

I only use clear nail polish because I'm so cackhanded but at night I often massage Waitrose baby bottom butter into hands and feet (and face too if it's feeling dry) or I give myself a mini manicure in front of the telly.

I think of it all as taking care of myself.

Urgh - too long!
I get up an hour before everyone else every day to shower, blow dry hair, put on make up and get dressed. I lay my clothes out for the next day every night. I do my nails every other evening in front of the TV (stops me eating). Will touch up make up maybe twice a day. I do eyebrows once a week, along with deep conditioning hair mask. Colour hair every 6 weeks. In summer I'd do a light fake tan every 3 days and a pedicure once a week too.
I am not a natural beauty - in fact I'd scare small children if I didnt do my hair and put make up on!
