Hello

Can anyone help me?

I had a gorgeous DD 9 weeks ago today Grin however my body is just not my own anymore.

I just feel so big. I've put on 2 stone, most of it on my belly and bum. I can't stand looking in the mirror. And I can't hit the gym as my hip got all busted out during the birth :(

I need new clothes to help me feel better until I can get myself back to shape.

I've been looking at next jeans but I'm confused, they have high waist jean, high rise, lift and shape and lift slim and shape! Confused does anyone have any recommendations?? I think I'm a size 12 now and I'm 5ft 1.

And any styling help at all is welcome. I feel like I'm living in leggings and maternity tops still!!

I'm 5ft and I buy jeans from the Next petite range. I find their jeans are quite generously cut and tend to have to size down from my usual 8 to a 6.
The best pair I have had this winter have been a slim straight leg. The leg is flattering and they sit below the natural waist.
If you are not feeling great about your size, high rise could be good. I have a bottle green skinny pair from last year. They sit on the waist, hold everything in and no unsightly muffin top!!
Maybe try and get to one of their larger stores or order several styles from the Directory and see what suits

I'm currently wearing a pair of size 8 next Jeans (although they are old). Most other places I have to squeeze into a size 12! I have found the only way to get sizing right at Next is to actually try stuff on.

Theyre appalling, imho. Very weird sizing and fit.

If you want forgiving post-baby jeans, I hate to say it, but have a look at M&S!

TK maxx have some of the Levis Curve ID in at the mo.

For cheap as chips , I have got some from sainsbos. The don't last long, but neither do next and they're half the price. I found they fit really well, better than the Levis.

minicc · 08/12/2012 18:46

Have you tried jeggings? Much softer than jeans and tend to be fairly cheap. I swear by miss Selfridge petite. Anyway, as others have said I find next run a size bigger than usual though so go for a 10 petite either way. And congratulations, enjoy your squishy bundle x

Thank you so much everyone.

I've ordered a couple of pairs from next and will have a look at the other places reccommended as well. Quite fancy some jeggings as well. Frankly anything will be better than the maternity jeans I've been living in!! Xmas Grin

At the moment DD has millions more clothes than me, I think I will have to get used to this!

You want high waisted suck it all in jeans. Topshop Kristen are brilliant as are GAP high rise skinny which for some reason they haven't had in for MONTHS but assure me will be coming back at some point!

brighthair · 09/12/2012 01:22

The m&s 5 pocket jeggings are cheap, comfy and higher waisted

Ilovemydogandmydoglovesme · 09/12/2012 01:38

I second M&S leggings. They actually look and feel like denim jeans, you'd never know the difference. They're high rise, which I think just means high waisted, and they fit like skinny jeans. And they're cheap and seem to last.

NotQuitePerfect · 09/12/2012 08:35

Another vote for the M&S 5-pocket jeggings. They're brilliant, you'll love them.

Ilovemydogandmydoglovesme · 09/12/2012 17:16

Just realised my autocorrect changed jeggings to leggings. I meant jeggings!

Gingersnap88 · 09/12/2012 18:01

Another vote for the M&S jeggings- they are so comfy and fit nicely on the waist, they also come in lots of nice colours. Have been living in them and longline tops while my body slowly returns to normal.
I've found that my skin has become very delicate since pregnancy and I can't wear anything tight or rough, sounds mad but hey ho!

Congratulations by the way Grin

tk have lots of levis/seven for all mankind/hilfiger jeans in at the moment, i would go there and try lots of those on.

WeeSooty · 11/12/2012 10:56

Thanks everyone. Will try out jeggings and look other places for jeans Smile
