Gel Nail polish

My mum likes having her nails done and has started dropping some major hints about wanting her own set so that she can do it herself. I'm still needing a Xmas present for her so this could solve that problem.

Anyone point me the right direction for a kit or something? What does she need?
Any good sites to look at?

You can buy a Bluesky Shellac kit including a UV lamp and the various polishes and base/top coats quite cheaply. Reviews are varied from consumers who love it and professionals who are concerned that Shellac is a brand name and this is essentially a 'fake' (or dupe) product...

I've never used the home Bluesky stuff, only ever had professional Shellac, but you could do some google ing to research it - this seems to be the best known home product tho. I won't recommend it personally as I have no experience of it. I have no idea if the professionals are right to be concerned or if they are just seeing the money-making potential of what has historically been a professional treatment being swept away - no knowledge to enlighten that debate I'm afraid!
