Hope this is tbe right place to put this, i just recently started invisilign treatment for my horrible teeth and an keen to hear other people's experiences, share support whatever the type of braces you have decided on!!

I have the inman aligner atm this. I have one week today to go and I'm done.

My teeth were straight within 2 weeks, but it takes another 2 weeks to get the retainer made, so I've had to put up with it for another fortnight.
But 4 weeks for straight front teeth is pretty good.

Hi, I am using clear plastic invisalign style braces (Orthocaps is the brand). Very pleased so far but it takes a long time -another 6-9 months to go!

Squirted, can I ask what you are paying for your treatment? Mine is £2,500 for top and bottom alignment (I have overcrowding on both, but worse on the top teeth).

Lashing, top only. £1600.

I am getting them in the new year. One squint rogue tooth to the front upper.

Wow that Inman looks amazing! My invisilign treatment is going to last 18 months, 36 trays :( but I keep thinking it will be worth it.

I'm currently on tray 3, and noticing subtle changes, lots of gaps forming!

gregs what type are you getting?

I am hoping to take the plunge as my teeth cause me no end of worry. I have a lot of crowding on the lower teeth and a slightly wonky tooth on the upper (that's a new thing ...). I think the inman can only work for either up or down? Very interested in that though.

Anyway am marking my place as seeing others who have taken the plunge makes me hopeful!

scripso it took me 6 months to work up the courage to even ask my dentist about it....funny thing is Jenny told me that everyone he saw he he thought I was snuggle excellent candidate for the treatment because my oral hygiene I'd good but when I mentioned it to him he got really excited I must be a challenge.

My teeth are crowded both upper and lower, and it's going to take longer because I didn't opt to have my wisdom teeth extracted

The only pain I've had so far is tongue ulcers but I took a nail file to the trays and that has solved the problem!

thanks saycheeeeeese haha re Jenny typo. Luckily I had to have my wisdom teeth out ages ago, but there still isn't much space (hope that doesn't mean I'd need extractions!). I have one wonky tooth in the upper and really bad crookedness on the front three teeth on the lower jaw.
I would probably be looking for the quickest possible solution as I hate having anything done to my mouth.

I've just reread my post ffs my typos are awful sorry I'm using my mobile phone!

I like "snuggle excellent" and I shall be using that at the earliest opportunity

I got my braces off on Tuesday. 14 months of fixed braces, upper and lower. £3700! Cr@p at times but well worth it. Love my new teeth!

Squirted would you mind saying which dentist you are using (PM if you want to!) - all my local ones are pushing invisalign but as my bite is good, I would think that the Inman Aligner would be even better. I would be happy to travel!

I'm thinking of getting invisalign too. Have a few gaps that are bugging me. Interested to hear how you all get on.

Since I got this fitted ive noticed others advertising invisalign, but I didnt realise I was getting something different iyswim. I thought I had just got the name wrong.

My bite is good too, I had one overlapping front tooth. He told me it would take 6 weeks to be fixed, but it was only 2. At my first appointment to get it checked, he measured up for the retainer. I am well pleased.

Good point Squirted, perhaps a little too far to go for me! inman aligner could be just the thing for me though.

3 months into an 18 month sentence here - got ceramics on the top so not too vile looking. I'm nowhere near as self conscious of it as I thought I would be, braces don't seem as stigmatised these days do they?

I'm neurotic about keeping my gob clean so invested in a waterpik which is brill for jet washing all the bits of trapped food after eating, right little life saver it is.

Bella that sounds good, I've asked my DH to buy me the Oral B 5000...all singing and dancing!! The thing about invisilign is you have to take them out to eat but brush and loss before you put them back in..... people give me strange looks in the work toilets and I give them the middle finger when they leave

Anyone recommend a good whitening toothpaste? And a gentle mouthwash?

Iam being referred for train tracks but I am quite keen on the aligner mentioned above. I am waiting to hear back from a local dentist who does that too. If he can do it in 12 weeks I would rather that than 12 months.

gregs you might want to check you are getting a retainer. I got traditional train tracks when I was in my 20's stuck it for about 18 months. Over the past 10 years my front tooth has been gradually moving back to where it was before, apparently because I didn't get a retainer to wear. Hence the need for me to be getting it done again. I was talked into this type because he will fit a permanent retaining wire across the back of my front teeth to ensure they can't move again.

I had braces in my late teens but like you didn't get a retainer so will ensure whatever I do this time I will have one.

Daft question time - can you eat and drink and talk ok with it in?

No, it gets taken out for eating. Drinking gets easier tbh!
Speaking was a problem for a few days. I couldn't understand myself!

Just a few days? I have a front facing role and answer the phones at work. D you think it will work? I have a consultation on Tuesday.

hi fellow brace wearers

I'm 5 months into my fixed brace sentence. It's fixing lots, wonky teeth, wonky jaw and bite. Jaw surgery to come :( I've just had a couple of baby teeth out so I'm feeling a little down about it all.

But I'm looking forward to the end result. I can't wait for shiny straight teeth. And having an even bite, that'll be amazing. I can't bite down on one side, so looking forward to the day when I can chew food properly :)

I don't normally mind having the brace. It hasn't bothered me too much, once I got over the initial stage.

I'm jealous of all of you having invisible removable ones
