Hope this is tbe right place to put this, i just recently started invisilign treatment for my horrible teeth and an keen to hear other people's experiences, share support whatever the type of braces you have decided on!!

Crutchlow welcome, 12 weeks wow that's quick! I have another year of invisalign and I've done nearly 6 months already.

Yes claustrophobic that's how I feel. Just weird and very irritated.

I know it well honestly it does get better. I spent the first week with a mega headache and the desire to rip my face off and bite someone very hard.

I bet your teeth are vair vair beautiful though!

I had invisalign on my top teeth 4 years ago. It was amazing and my teeth look perfect.

Some of the braces hurt more than others, and were more fiddley but it was the best thing I could do for my confidence. Most people didn't even realise I was wearing them.

I now have a permanent bar cemented behind my teeth, to keep them in place, but I don't really notice it now.

Faye im very pleased so far it has been relatively painless, as you say some trays are sore but most are ok. I find the trays following IPR tend to be the worst but still probably easy compared to traditional braces.

Did you choose the bar over a retainer?

That's the beauty say cheese of the aligner. 12 weeks instead of 2 years. I too will need a retainer after.

I asked my dentist about the inman but my teeth were too bad, my teeth were pretty awful but looking better by the day!

Hello, can anyone give me some advice please? I am getting a bit desperate as I hate my teeth so much :(

I have slightly wonky bottom teeth, v wonky upper teeth (a bit like this picture here) and the top teeth slightly overbite.

But I am put off by three issues:

• I have half a false front tooth with a semi-permanent cap from when I was fourteen. The cap sticks out a lot (making the wonkyness worse) and is discoloured. But I had to have in-gum injections to have it in, which freaked me out a lot (plus filing etc.) and I am worried that any brace will mean I have to have the cap replace/will not be possible with the cap.
• Related to the above, I am a total wuss about drills, teeth and needles. I have never had a filling and the cap was awful - I just don't like feeling helpless (plus have relatives with horror stories from bad dentists)
• Which leads me to 3: I don't have a dentist I know or trust. My old one retired a few years ago and I travelled back to that practice (at my parents) until recently, which I can't do any more. So I don't know how to look for a good dentist. Any recommendations if I give my location please? I am about six months overdue on my checkup because I am petrified of getting a rubbish dentist (DP's is awful - so many issues).

My back teeth are fine, all my wisdom teeth are still in (one is wonky but dormant so I've left it) and I am fanatical about oral hygiene. Any advice appreciated - you all seem to know your stuff!

Your case does sound complicated,I don't think you would qualify for invisalign because of the cap but don't quote me, have you ever spoken to an orthodontist?

I was terrified of drills etc however getting the braces has most definitely helped me get over my fear of the dentist and it helps that he's drop dead gorgeous as I had to go fortnightly at the beginning. My attitude, almost similar to my attitude towards pregnancy and childbirth, has been no pain no gain.

It will be worth it in the end. I think you should book an appointment with a few orthodontists, shop around and see whar your options are. Good oral hygiene tends to be a requirement for most braces so you're already there with that.

I'm just resurrecting this thread (I was on it under a previous name) to ask about passive Invisalign aligners.

I thought I had 23 aligners in my course. I've just finished my 19th and been told I don't need the others, as they were 'overcorrecters'. Does anyone have any experience of this?

I thought the animated teeth moving video took me right through to 23 aligners, so feel a bit short changed to stop now. I also think my front teeth aren't quite right.

The dentist who started my treatment has returned to nz and I had a different person today. I asked a couple of times about the other aligners and didn't feel altogether happy about the answer. Any experience of this gratefully received. I think I'll email to clarify as well, as I feel a bit confused! Thanks
