Frock and shoe boots?

I am really craving a pair of shoe boots, maybe like this but have I missed the boat with shoe boots (or did it never set sail?)

Also, what kind of frock could I wear with them for a christmas party (in town, informal). I quite like the lace dresses around at the mo about but Kate Middleton keeps springing to mind....

I'm a (newly) curvy 14 (was an 18, edging towards a 12 now - woohoo!) with a large bust.

Give it to me straight Grin

Thank you S&B

I had my eye on those shoe boots too!

I decided against them, without trying them on I should add, as I'm short (5ft 2) and they do cut you off at your ankle and make your legs look shorter. My legs don't need any more help to look shorter, they do that all on their own.

So I think if you're taller then they look great, otherwise they will still look good but perhaps not the most flattering look.

Lace dresses - I think they look nice, but there seem to be so many around that I've purposely avoided them so that I don't look the same as everyone else.

I am wearing a similar pair for a party with a flapper style dress (purple). Key is to wear black opaques, then your legs don't get cut off.

Miss Selfridge is going on my shitlist of websites that redirect links to their homepage if you're on a mobile Angry

I can't see them so take my advice with a pinch of salt, but I think lace dresses need 'proper' shoes, high heels, courts, platforms or strappy. I love shoeboots for day though with opaques and dresses or jeans, far easier to wear than ankle boots IMO.

yes I was thinking shoe boots with black tights.

I'm struggling to find a dress. lace is everywhere and a bit "Kate" but the other frocks out there - sequined, baroque - seem a bit ott and ill only wear once or twice. skater style dresses never fit over my boobs. I'm even more hopless at putting skirts and tops together Grin

I wanna look cool! (think I have just ruined my chances with that statement alone!)
