Phase eight sizing - big or small?

Just that really.

I'm a 16 in all stores really but have seen a dress on eBay that is listed as a 14-16. And it's cheap. It's a jersey maxi dress so would stretch but its DH's Christmas do at work and I need to look and feel amazing.

I have found it comes up quite small
I am an 8-10

If it's a maxi, where does it need to "fit "? Boobs and waist? Cah you ask seller to measure those two places and compare to your existing clothes?

BrandyAlexander · 03/12/2012 07:14

Oh, I am going to say the opposite to chickydoo. I am a smallish 8 and wish they did a 6 as their 8s come up quite big.

I've always found it it v generous. I have bought 10s there twice when I am v definitely a 12.

Actually you're probably all right. With phase eight it depends on the dress really, i tried on 3 dresses one day, 1 dress in a 12 was too small, next dress was too big in the same size and a 10 fitted perfectly, another day i went in size 14 was a perfect fit. With phase eight you can't just buy it off the rack, you really have to try the actual dress on to know what will fit.

I think a 14 will be fine for you. I find their clothes very generous and sometimes have had to size down twice!

SoupDragon · 03/12/2012 07:27

I've never found their sizing generous.

CeliaFate · 03/12/2012 07:55

It varies, you have to try the stuff on. I've bought a tight fitting dress in a 12, jersey tops in a 12, but floaty tops in a 10. Trousers are either falling off me or too tight so I can't get any there.

BellaOfTheBalls · 03/12/2012 08:08

I think I'd rather have it too big, I can always get it taken in. Right, will hold off until the other on finishes on Thursday!

I have a woollen jumper tunic/dress in a size 12 and I am a 12. It fits perfectly.

I have quite a few of their jersey dresses and bought a size down for most of them.
