My poor hands are dry & cracked to the point of bleeding at the knuckles. Please can someone point me in the right direction of a good hand cream?

Djembe i agree with you. Clarins is not effective bit i do like the scent.

Another vote for Clarins. My hands are a mess without it and it sinks right in.

However the Neutrogena Norwegian one is also excellent but I find it a bit greasy.

For really bad days though, a bit of Lansinoh at bedtime is a winner!

Body Shop Hemp hand cream works a treat for me!

anniewoo · 02/12/2012 23:14

Have used Clarins, Body Shop hemp, Aveeno- still always go back to Neutrogena Foot cream but it is very greasy so use it at night.

My latest discovery - Lanolips Golden Ointment, made my hands instantly less wizened old crone and more lady of leisure.

also think that the hemp hand cream is excellent. ive had cracked hands for a long time as i worked in care and only now are they starting to look better. a good tip is, anytime you are putting anything on your face (face mask, oil, cream) put it on your hands as well!

Apicare do a good, non-greasy handcream that has honey in it ... very nice and cuts dryness. L'Occitane is universally good - especially their thicker versions in the tubes rather than the lotions in the pump bottles. Clarins also good. Neutrogena is good but I find it very greasy and it smells horrible.

Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Concentrated hand cream. We have the unscented version. A little goes a long way and it is within most people's budget.

Xérand by La Roche-Posay.

With Neutrogena you only need a dab about the size of half a pea. It's never greasy if you use that amount.

Soap and Glory is fab and often in 3 for 2 at Boots.

I thinki the best one is Crabtree and Evelyn. Hand therapy I think it's called. There are two tubes. The first is a kind of scrub, the second a lovely unguent. You can also get a wee trial/gift pack that contains small tubes of both in a pouch to see if you get on with it.

Avon hand and nail cream with glycerine is fantastic and only 99p at the moment.

Body shop hemp hand cream very good but smells odd. I had to give it to my sister in law as couldn't stand the smell!

Elizabeth Arden 8 hour hand cream is really good but costs about £19 so not the cheapest.

Another vote for Neutrogena. And I think you can get Flexitol for hands as well as feet.
