Anyone with a cream/white leather (pandora style charm) bracelet? How durable is it for everyday use?

Looking into it for a xmas present for myself.

How long have you had it and how durable is it?

Im concerned about discolouration and stretching of it. I would like to wear it on a regular basis with just a couple of charms. I am not a big silver person so the regular bracelet is too much for me but I would like to get a couple of coloured glass beads and saw the leather bracelt in the shop today.

If you have any (cheaper) alternatives I would like to know about them too.

I don't have the cream leather but I do have the tan leather and also the dark grey leather. I've had them for nearly 12 months and wear almost daily.
The tan leather has darkened in places over time. Not really noticeable unless you look for it. I think I would be cautious about a lighter colour though. Both bracelets have worn well. Little sign of wear and minimal stretching. i have just 3 charms on each.
The silver bracelets are better if you want lots of charms.

I've got purple pink and cream wear them a few times a week just one charm on each. I've had them for over a year now and all ok. They have stretched slightly but not too much. Be careful to remove them before getting wet and not to out too many charms on them or that will stretch the bracelet.

Have you looked at trollbeads? There bracelets aren't as shiney and I prefer the glass ones they do.

Thanks for your help.

Good to hear that they have worn well over a year with regular use. I was only wanting 3 charms on it.

I didn't know they had grey, that would suit me better than black/brown as I'm worried cream would discolour (although I really like the cream ones). My local shop only had pink, cream and black ones.

I have heard of troll beads and will look them up, not too many jewellery shops near me and I would like to try and buy jewellery in person not online so hopefully they are available somewhere nearby.

Anyone else's experiences would be appreciated!

Wow thanks for the troll bead suggestion daisy they are beautiful!! Much nicer than the pandora ones I agree!

No shop near me sells them sadly, so may have to buy online or wait till I can get to a stockist.

The leather bands are not in colours I would like though (I want a grey one now I think) so would troll beads fit a pandora?

the pandora beads fi on the roll beads bracelet but not the other way around apart from ones in the universal unique collection.

i use this website a lot, they sell pandora too but only what they have left in stock as pandora have stopped supplying them now. The beads are generally a little bit cheaper and free delivery from authorised stockist. its a shame pandora re squeexing all the independants out of the chain as i prefer to buy from them rather than the pandora shops who have a hard sell technique.
perlenodense.com/products/206-trollbeads---universal-/ it is danish but used lots and used lots by other collectors too, they have a facebook page if you want to check recommendations first. (im not them i promise, just wanted to pass on a link to some better prices.)

perlenodense.com/products/231-trollbeads----universal-unique/ this is the page with the universal uniques, hey have a wider core so will fit over the screw on sections of a pandora or chamilia bracelet, trollbeads bracelets dont have the screw on part, i like hanging the locks over on troll beads as well.

I quite fancy one of these as well......with regard to sizing, if I got a smaller bracelet, will it still fit ok with a few beads on it? I can't stand things flapping about on my wrist (which measures 15.5cm and I see 17.5cm is the smallest...)

daisydoodoo · 04/12/2012 13:47

yes they say measure your wrist and add 3 cm i usually only add 2 and find that thats ok with a few beads on and as they do stretch a tiny bi is still fine by the time its full. the silver trollbeads you buy the bracelet and the lock so you buy the lenght you need and then the lock you like, so the bracelet is the measurement of your wrist as you get the additional 2cm from the lock. i hope that makes sense?

the pandora leather ones as long as you only have one or two beads on maybe 3 depending on the weight of them, as long as you dont get it wet shouldnt stretch, so 17.5 plus a few beads should be fine. you could try on in store and order online if you can find a better deal?
