A mascara on your bottom lashes question.

I only wear it on top lashes but read that I should wear it on lower lashes to open up my eyes. How do you stop it smudging? I tried it this morning and already have mascara marks underneath.

I never used to do bottom lashes as they always smudged (not down to application - it was later in the day). Then I bought Clinique Bottom Lash mascara as it got great reviews - it's brilliant. No smudging at all.

I now think top lashes coated twice and bottom coated once really does open the eye - simply as I have very fair lashes naturally and it makes my eyes bigger as they are noticeably taking up more space on my face if I colour both sets.

Got lashes like spiders legs so have never worn mascara on bottom lashes.
Dye them if you want them to stand out with less fuss.
Eyelure used to do an easy to use kit.

I never have done this, but am now thinking that perhaps I should do this - I have blonde lashes. But perhaps I won't take the mascara to the tips of lashes, just at the roots?

I only do top - firstly because of smudging issue and then I read as one gets older (48) it can look aging.

I'm a recent convert to doing bottom lashes - Eyeko Skinny is good for definition rather than fattening, the wand is small so makes for a precise, neat job and it doesn't flake or smudge.

Piss of piss, basically! Xmas Grin

clinique make a tiny mascara specifically for bottom lashes, it is very good

SantasBlotto · 02/12/2012 20:32

hatty, clumpy bottom lashes is aging, yes. With a fine mascara, you'd be OK

valiumredhead · 02/12/2012 21:16

I do 2 coats of top but only the outer lashes on the bottom - looks less made up.
