Horrible skin since 40!

Hi I wonder if anyone has any suggestions, my skin has been a nightmare literally since the day I turned 40. My jawline is constantly itchy and inflammed and I keep getting dry itchy patches elsewhere on my face. I am throwing Clarins facial oil on like no tomorrow and have also tried a Boots sensitive moisturiser, both help a bit but not a lot! Has anyone had anything similar or can suggest a good product.
Thanks so much x

i posted the same question when i turned 40 two months ago - my skin has been a nightmare since! the concensus i think was that it was mostly due to hormones. someone may be along with some actual skin care tips, i havent found much to help apart from elemis bliss capsules (a kind of light oil i think).
however my skin has settled down slightly but that is because i am newly pregnant, that may be too drastic a solution for you Grin?
its horrible though isnt it!

Thanks for the quick reply :-) you are right that pregnancy would be a step too far for me ! However I will have a look at the capsules you are using, as if turning 40 isn't bad enough....

Oli, I've been using the Body Shop Aloe night cream and this has really helped. I even use it in the day when my skin is really itchy and dry and it has improved so much.

I'm not quite 40 yet (next year) but my skin has definitely changed over the past 6 months. I've started getting massive spots on my chin just like I did in my late teens/early 20s. Bloody hormones. I changed my skin care products which helped a bit. Maybe once we're 60 we're have lovely skin again.
