Cheap exfoliator for black heads?

I have blackheads on my nose and chin and the older I get the more appear. Or perhaps it's the fact that I have a toddler and no time to allocate to my face. I also get these tiny red with a tiny white head spots on the end of my nose, wtf are they about??
I'm hoping cheap supermarket type product here?

Wilkinson's Skinology range of tea tree oil products are great and very cheap. They are about a £1 a product (face scrub, face wash, intensive spot cream, blackhead cleanser etc) and they often do 3 for 2 offers. I rotate between this and Garnier face scrub.

Thanks greenhill
Forgot to mention my skin is otherwise fairly dry so I don't tend to use the teenage skin stuff. But I guess I could use a blackhead cleanser only on nose and chin. Will def give them a go.

get a bha
teatree oil really doesn't work on lots of people's skins as can irritate

the blackhead is just the oil from the pore hitting the surface and oxidising
you need something that can work on the pore and sort out the oil
this is excellent

Thanks perry

scrubby gloves work a treat with your normal face wash.

valiumredhead · 29/11/2012 14:55

Neutrogene do one - about £4 iirc.

DejaB00 · 08/12/2012 14:40

I just wanted to say thanks for your advice, I've been using the Neutrogena 7 day rescue triple action one and it's amazing! Did a mask the first day, been scrubbing once a day and washing once a day, it's only been 5 days and my blackheads have nearly disappeared. This stuff is bloody unbelievable!

Oh wow that's fantastic - my ds uses it around his nose and it has made a difference.

Aspirin face mask. Crush 4 to 6 aspirins and mix with a small amount of water or live yogurt and apply to face. It will rid you of spots and black heads and make your skin feel soft smooth and glowy. And best of all its very cheap. Buy cheapo own brand aspiring at 30p a packet in superdrug.

It works because aspirin is salacylic acid.

Startail · 08/12/2012 17:10

actually asprin degrades to Salacylic acid in water, which is why you should bin tablets with fine needle crystals on their surface. That's salacylic acid and they have got damp.

No good for a sore head, but good for killing spots as Skandi says.

skandi1 · 08/12/2012 17:18

Ah Startail. Thank you. I didn't know it was the water which played a part. If that doesn't work for headaches how do soluble aspirin work?

bruffin · 08/12/2012 17:21

Lush dark angel is brilliant

PerryCombover · 08/12/2012 18:36

Yayyyyy

topsi · 08/12/2012 18:40

I was going to say salacylic but never thought of using asprin. You could crush them and add to a moisturiser to make a mask!

PerryCombover · 08/12/2012 18:55

I thought that the bha ( salicylic acid) had to be at the right ph to be effective..dunno if that is the case with aspirin.

The Neutrogena stuff is unbelievable..I have recommended to everyone I know
