Colours for darker skin, can anyone help?

I am looking for something nice to get my niece for Christmas. She is 2yo and has her mum's dark (Indian origin) colouring. Thick black hair, deep brown eyes the size of saucers, bloody gorgeous basically!!

I think she is normally dressed quite 'girly' but I don't really want to be constrained by that... Within reason, obv I don't want to give something which won't be liked at all.

so far, I have found what I think is a lovely embroidered knit from John Lewis. but I wanted the wisdom of MN to help with more colourful things which will look nice on darker skin.

Now looking at Boden too. I am consciously erring towards slightly 'premium' branded, because it will be noticed. If you know what I mean...!

I think this is insipid - something in teal, purple, deep pink etc would look great.

Hotter colours would work better. Yes to teal, purple, jewel colours etc

Gorgeous skirt on sale. On sale, I know it's extortionate without the discount. But same price as the JL one with it.

And plainer berry one.

Yes I thought the sweater might be boring!

Those berry skirts are lovely, thank you! I found an online shop earlier called 'Alex and Alexa' which had some little girls dresses by designer names going for figures like £200 ish. I was gobsmacked and needed a lie down.

Ha yes. I order from the Elias&Grace one a lot. But only when the 60 and 70% kick in!

My boys are half Indian and have olivey colouring that looks good in almost anything... Except sandy colours like they jumper you picked out!!! Or mustardy/yellow colours as they tend to bring out yellow Asian tones. My Indian niece looks great in maroons and deep jewel colours. I think you won't go far wrong with rich, deep, warm colours.
