Hair dryer recommendations, please!

I need a new hairdryer but, as my current one is about 15 years old, I suspect even hair drying technology may have moved on a bit!

My criteria are that must not be too heavy to hold and I'd like it to have the ability to be not too blowy as I have really fine hair and I find it hard to style it when it's being whipped about. A proper cold setting would be good too

Any ideas or are they all the same?

So excited I can pass this recommendation on!

Veloce 3800

Absolutely just as good as a parlux and about £30 cheaper. It's amazing.

As recommended to me by a MNer in the first place. I am grateful x

Ooh. I need a new one too . I want one that blows hard and fast though as it seems to make my hair shiny.

I have bright pink Babyliss one which I love, mainly because it has a retractable cord which is SO useful as I don't end up with trailing cord everywhere! I have fine hair too and it works really well.

One and only one: the Parlux compact. Worth every penny as it makes you look like you've had a pro blowdry.

Parlux 3200.

Thank you!

Aside from the relatively high price, are there any disadvantages to the Parlux? I am about to replace my c12 year old hairdryer and want to make the right choice!!
