Make-up makeover for a 40-something

Feeling rather frumpy at the moment (the diet started again on Monday) and would like to revisit my makeup bag/look. I'm an Estee Lauder girl and have been for over 15 years with the odd Mac Lippy thrown in for good measure.

I'm off to London next weekend to hit the shops, so my question to you lovely lot is which counters would you recommend for a wholesale makeup replacement, or should I get bits from all different makes and if so which? Any counters to avoid and any particularly good for advice?

I'd like to look sophisticated, sexy and younger than 40 - but of course if there was something like that around it'd be sold out!

Have you had a look at Lisa Eldridge's website for good videos on makeup? Worth a look.

Personally I'd buy an Urban Decay Naked eyeshadow palette which would give you lots and lots of neutral colours, all of which go together. Then I'd buy a Lancome Definicils mascara and some Benetint. These three are brilliant for creating natural or nightime looks.

Can't help with lipstick though, as I'm useless with it.

If you're feeling rich, the Bare Minerals foundations and veil are v good but I can't afford them anymore now. :)

I would head straight for the Bobbi Brown counter, I'm 40 and I went to them recently with excellent results Smile
