I've been going to my stylist for three years. I rang to make an appointment this week and she has left! Of course they "don't know" where she has gone grrrrr. So do I give another stylist at that salon a chance? I'm very fussy and hate hate hate having to find a new hairdresser cry cry

It like getting a new dentist. :(

You could phone round otjer local salons and ask whether she's working there now, perhaps?

Mewsical · 23/11/2012 21:06

Try and find her, she may do freelance!

Lozislovely · 23/11/2012 21:26

Maybe Google her name????

anniewoo · 24/11/2012 10:47

I didn't realize you were talking about a hair stylist. I thought you meant a stylist for clothes and had a vision that Lady Gaga or other celeb was a Mumsnetter and was wailing because she would now have to choose clothes for herself. And i thought (judgy pantsly) 'oh for God's sake get a life!'. Your hair stylist, now that's a different story-you poor thing -I feel your pain! Grin

Where I live when a stylist changes salon the new salon puts an ad in the local paper saying blah blah welcomes customers old and new...
Just a sneaky way of letting all the old clients know where te stylist went to.

AlwaysReadyForABlether · 24/11/2012 20:51

Try finding her on Facebook?

Meggles76 · 25/11/2012 07:18

As Dillydolly says, check ads in local paper. I was really cross a few years ago when a salon refused to tell me where a hairdresser had moved on to and then it popped up in the paper.
My most recent stylist left and I decided it was a cue to try a different salon all together. Really pleased with cut so will be staying there. Sometimes a change is a good thing.

I agree with Meggles. Change is good.

Embrace it!

Yy, Google the name. I found my old stylist on the internet. Unfortunately he'd moved to Harvey Nicks Hmm but he gives me a good discount for my undying loyalty Grin Or you can ring round the salons and ask if there's a [name] who's recently started. The salon will be happy to poach business from another salon if you're following the stylist.

Dancergirl · 25/11/2012 09:20

I never have the same one twice! There are millions of good hairdressers out there.

noseynoonoo · 25/11/2012 15:53

I feel your pain. I had the same stylist for 14 years! He shut up shop recently and I tried a new one. Now waiting for the monstrosity to grow out and thn try another salon.

You're supposed to ask someone whose hair you like where they got there hair done but I never see women with hair that is like mine to ask.
