Should I buy this top?

I am being a right dithered and need a kick up the arse one way or another. Have work Xmas do coming up and dress code is 'with added sparkle'.

I was considering this top to go with this skirt, these shoes and this bag - all of which I already own.

So, shall I get my card out?

I think that would look very sparkly and lovely!

YDdraigGoch · 22/11/2012 17:59

Wow! That outfit cost more than my entire wardrobe, including the wardrobe itself!
If you really do own all those clothes, u think you'll look fab.

MrsCampbellBlack · 22/11/2012 17:59

I think its a nice top but too old for you Amber

AmberNectarine · 22/11/2012 18:13

Do you think mrsCB? Skirt has Angelina style split so though a demure top would be the way to go...

All lovely, lucky you will look great agree re demure top with split skirt.

DilysPrice · 22/11/2012 18:43

Unless you're loaded or go to a lot of parties a party sparkly top like that will not be good value for money on a £ per wear basis so I personally would try to get something very nearly as nice for a quarter of the price from New Look etc.

It's a nice top, but frankly a sequin is a sequin is a sequin is a sequin. Skirt is lovely though.

...mind you have just gone back and seen the price of the fabulous shoes Shock, so yes, sure go ahead with the top, you'll look lovely.

MarshaBrady · 22/11/2012 18:49

I like it all.

LonelyLinda · 22/11/2012 18:50

GORGEOUS!!!!! Definitely go for it!!!! Love the sparkles of the top and wasn't sure if the neckline was too conservative but with a leg split in the skirt it will go perfectly and the bag will look fantastic. Alternatively you could wear with black plain or sparkly shorts and with or without black tights.

katykoo · 22/11/2012 19:05

Lovely.Jealous... Moi ?

SandyChick · 22/11/2012 19:36

Like it all apart from the skirt. Maybe it looks better on.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/11/2012 19:37

Love the skirt and shoes. I like the top and think it would look great with the skirt, but personally I'd have chosen a different bag with that top so the 'added sparkles' don't clash!

PuffPants · 22/11/2012 20:21

I like the shoes and the bag but the skirt/top combo is a bit frumpy in my opinion. How about leather trousers? Or keep the skirt but wear with a sleeveless sparkly top?

PuffPants · 22/11/2012 20:23

Oh, I didn't see that the skirt has a whopping great split in it, I suppose that does sex it up a bit. Still don't think I'd put it with that top.

DilysPrice · 22/11/2012 20:24

I do think that Linda's idea of sparkly black shorts and tights is an excellent one.

flybynight · 22/11/2012 20:26

Amber, you have some seriously gorgeous clothes. Is your whole wardrobe like that?

AmberNectarine · 22/11/2012 20:33

Like the shorts and tights idea but party is a bit swanky, so maybe one to remember for a night out.

I know it is quite an expensive top, but I'm hoping it will go the distance and the sequins won't all drop off immediately.

remus I know, I know, I just love the bag and want to use it. I do have a pewter oversized clutch from Zara which would probably work better...

Another option would be this skirt with a grey silk top (as yet unsourced) and the aforementioned accessories

OR

A black Anglomania dress I've had for a whole and never worn, but then I'm not sure about black shoes, black dress and rose pink bag with nothing to bridge the gap

Thanks for clothes compliments. Yes, my whole wardrobe is pretty much like that, I have spent the past couple of years weeding out rubbish and investing in lovely things, and now I have a wardrobe I am really happy with. I am sat here in Primark fleece pyjamas though, and I will never be letting them go!

I don't like the skirt. Nice top. The skirt looks old. Unless you are very thin and tall.

Silibilimili · 22/11/2012 20:38

I prefer the skirt from amber, much younger.

AmberNectarine · 22/11/2012 20:40

I'm a size 10, 5'5 and 27 if that helps wih visualisation.

There is a very similar top in m and s for £50 .. Just saying Wink

bishboschone · 22/11/2012 21:05

Actually I have just seen the top is only £105 , the way everyone was talking I thought it was hundreds . I like it but I find those tops quite square, have you tried it on? I am hourglass and they aren't fitted enough for me even in size 8 .

AmberNectarine · 22/11/2012 21:13

I have not tried it on, and I too an an hourglass, so it may not be right. Think I will have to order and see. May order skirt too, to try on. Anyone got any suggestions for a slinky grey top?
