It's a full on Essex wedding which'll be chock full of people who make the TOWIE lot look under dressed so I need to look good. Not easy.

  1. Size 16
  2. needs to have sleeves, even little cap ones or similar to cover tops of arms
  3. Midi length at least... I'm 5'10"
  4. colour: dark and sludgy is good, midnight blue excellent, red also very good, as is dark green. Can't do pale, beige, cream, peachy or pinky.
  5. Price - £100 will spend more if it's gorgeous
  6. must be high street so I can try it on and confirm it's gorgeousness.
  7. needs to suit an hourglass shape with giant boobs.

I'm rubbish at this sort of thing!

I tried this on at lunchtime today and it's lovely.... from the waist down. The top makes me look like a shot putter. But i loved the pleating on the skirt, probably because it's made from very light chiffony fabric so it moved beautifully.

Any of these work for you?

headfairy · 22/11/2012 16:28

I've had a look at Damsel in a Dress before, its a shame because they do look nice but I just know they won't suit me. That fitted look just makes me look really lumpy. I need a more A line skirt shape or something with some more volume to balance out my large top half.

How about this coast

EnjoyResponsibly · 22/11/2012 16:45

I'm 5,10 a size 16, 12 stone with 36f boobs and it worked on me.

bringmeroses · 22/11/2012 16:50

Sorry I am rubbish at links. First is black with gold spots in Hobbs reduced to £79, second is a bright turqoise Monsoon small cap sleeves £129 and third is dark gold sequins, monsoon, £79 with short sleeves. Tempted to get that last one myself...

headfairy · 22/11/2012 16:52

that's nice Enjoy but did the neckline work for you? I find high necklines on my big boobs just makes them look bigger? Also, sadly the length is too short. I have really badly scarred knees from operations, I'm fully intending to wear black opaques but my knees are a different size so anything that shows them looks plain odd. Which is why I hate dressing up :(

And this from Phase eight is lovely and would flatter your hourglass figure more than the tunic styles I've got so far:

Mid sleeve fitted navy lace dress £130!

I have seen this in the shop window and it is lovely - the web doesn't do it justice. unfortunately I can't justify buying it cos i never go anywhere posh enough to dress up for, but i think it is lovely

DebK2012 · 22/11/2012 17:11

Hmm

EnjoyResponsibly · 22/11/2012 17:19

Headfairy, I know what you mean, you'd think that about the boobs wouldn't you but I think it's the neckline that makes it worse. Sorry about your poor knees.

How about this? I've got it in a different colour. Sits on my knee.

I should say I have v long leg 34 " so if you're shorter of pins it might solve your knee problem.

EnjoyResponsibly · 22/11/2012 17:21

Worse = works in second post (iPad)

noddyholder · 22/11/2012 17:30

maxi

headfairy · 22/11/2012 19:54

oooh Carole that one looks nice!

Bringmeroses those are nice, but all too short for my terrible knees! I do love that Phase 8 one, but again too short.

KarmaBeliever I like that Hobbs one, might have to try that one tomorrow. I'm just worried it'll look a bit frumpy on me!

Noddyholder I like the colour of that maxi, but it might be a tad too plain.

Deb I'm not keen on that red peplum one, sorry. Looks a bit officey.

Great ideas though, keep 'em coming :o
