I had both at the same time and thought they were quite similar

GlitKnit · 22/11/2012 19:49

aha - so no real point then? I am scared if i defect that dior will be crap

I did and would agree they are similar - however after reading people on here swear by Estée Lauder double wear I switched to that and am now a devotee!

GlitKnit · 22/11/2012 19:54

isnt that for pock marked faces ;)

i always think its for REAL THICK GLOOPY coverage, and look your skin looks fine from here

Diorskin Nude and Forever are the best foundations I've tried, but I developed an allergy to them. Chanel use different perfumes and preservatives, I still use Lift Lumiere (good but not great).

steben · 22/11/2012 20:55

Well I don't have a pock marked face - it gives lovely even coverage and stays put all day. I get lots if compliments wearing it and I would also say I am not one of the slap it on with a trowel brigade either

roooibos · 22/11/2012 21:03

Yes! Vitalumiete just that bit slicker, Dior better IMO. Double wear bloody horrible crater filling stuff, if you're asking me, dry n horrible!

GlitKnit · 22/11/2012 22:23

Why is Dior better?

OP posts:
willybreeder · 22/11/2012 22:51

I think Dior Skin has more coverage and Chanel is more dewy. Not a fan of Estee Lauder DW either

GlitKnit · 22/11/2012 22:57

Oh thanks. :)

OP posts:
cardoon · 23/11/2012 07:41

Don't get EL DW if you have dry skin, it will suck out any remaining moisture and make you look like you are wearing a death mask

GlitKnit · 24/11/2012 08:58

Right. I've ruled that out.

I tried a sample of dior nude and was not convinced. It was very thick and quite the opposite of nude. Would not be convinced enough to abandon my beloved vitalumiere.

Eliza22 · 24/11/2012 19:45

I'm wearing EL Double Wear in both my profile pics, taken a few weeks ago, for my 50th. I look ok. Don't appear to have had "the life sucked out" of me! Smile

GlitKnit · 24/11/2012 23:53

Agree. Got a sample. Very powdery. H also noticed which is surprising

So Dior nude and your crap saleswomen at John Lewis west quay. No.

DonaAna · 25/11/2012 09:01

Depends on you skin. Chanels make my skin slightly oily towards the end of the day and they won't last until evening (becomes visibly patchy around nose and eyes - Lift Lumiere stays on better than Vitalumiere). Also the coverage is quite sheer - you will need concealer if you have discolorations (I have some pigment spots and two slightly purplish small scars).

Dionskin has better coverage and lasts longer, and does not get greasy.

GlitKnit · 25/11/2012 13:11

i dindt like in the end - was too powdery
