what weight are you if you are 5 ft 8?

Please lovely ladies,

I need some perspective here as people keep telling me I'm as I should be but not sure I agree....

I am 5 ft 8 , at the minute I weigh 11 st 8lb. Classic apple shape, 34ff boobs but good pair of legs! I feel I'm still fat at this weight even though I'm largely in a size 12 top and (mostly) bottom. Realistically though I'm pushing 40 so really struggling to lose anymore weight (i drink too much red wine if truth be told!)

So, what do other ladies with similar stats to me weigh?
Should I be hitting the spin bike and shakes or relaxing a little

Thanks Grin

I am five foot seven and weigh exactly 10 stone. I was 12 stone 1 six months ago and squeezing into a size 14, but after deciding to eat less and move more I have got down to 10 stone. and size 12. I feel my very best at about 9 stone 10, so will carry on to get there, but at 52 it is much harder.....

Eglantine, snap for height and weight!

Am 12 on top and 14 on hips.

Pot bellied, slightly...

5ft8.5 (The point five counts!!) and anything from 11st 12p to 12st 2...

I am "under average" but my boobs and huge arse weigh me down. I am frequently described as having a Kim Kardasian Bum.

Small waist though so I'll thank my stars for that...

A point to make though - are you fat when you look in the mirror? Weight means nothing as it is dictated by so many other factors.

You shouldn't judge fatness by your weight but by your measurements. Take an honest look in the mirror - not the scales.

Better still take an honest look at some photos. I was a shocker at the start of the year. I have no waist so excess weight looks awful on me.

12 stone and a full bodies size 14, I look my best at 10 stone. The weight has been creeping up on me, small kids etc. I know, no real excuse and I will have to tackle the weight. I look fine at 11 stone and pretty good at 10 stone, but pudgey and jowley at 12 stone.

I look waaaay too skinny under 10 stone at 5'8'. I've got long legs, a defined waist, decent size bust and long arms and neck. I'm hourglass and I look scrawny and hollow if I go any lighter!

Size 10 mainly.

mmm.

i am nearly 5'8 - i weigh in at about 11 and a half stone. i have stupidly skinny legs and bum, massive tummy, and generous bust.

op - i hope this makes you feel better. i fold my tummy into my jeans iykwim.
i look at clothes i used to wear, and a little tear trickles slowly down my cheek. Grin

OP i am the same height and weight as you, and even the same drinking habits boobage!

i am a 14 and feel a bit podgy round the middle so have just started a little diet to get about a stone off. I am not fat but have an even overall coverage that i'm a bit unhappy wiht.

i am much happier at ten and a half stone than eleven and a half

I am 5'8" and don't know what I currently weigh as I am too scared to step on the scales, but I imagine it may be about 10 10.
I am wearing size 12 ATM, and am a fairly muscular/broad pear-ish shape.

I have to keep dieting to stay at size 10 now I am a crepey (around 10 stone) and I can't currently be bothered.

When I was in my 20's I was around 9 stone and a size 8 in old money. When I dropped to 8 1/2 stone, I looked like a walking skeleton!

I am 5'7 and weigh 10 st 6 and am about 10/ 12 in clothes. I have enormous breasts, which I think takes up a lot of my weight Grin

I'm 5'8" and 11 stone (70kg), that gives me a BMI of 23 but I feel a bit big at this size, I'm a 12-14. I'm happier around 10 1/2 stone but struggle to maintain it and still eat the chocolate I need!!

12 and a half stone - yes too heavy for me but I'm a size 14 and pretty toned and fit, visible stomach muscles, so I don't consider myself massive. If I get to 11 something I'd be a size 12, at 10 something, usually about 10 and a half stone I start to fit into a 10. I don't carry much weight on my middle but have muscly limbs. I measure about 37" 28" 40". My bra size is 36C.

I'm 5' 8" and around 9 stone 8 pounds which makes me an 8-10. However I have no boobs :(. I have been up to 11 stone 4 but my current weight is the lightest I've been. Put the loss down to stress and now maintained by chasing my nonstop toddler around :)

I'm 5'8" and 12 stone 1lb.
Size 14 and a spongey hour glass.
Generally happy except when my chin started cloning itself and decorating itself with hair spikes, but this could just be the doom of the forties.

I'm 5ft10 now I weigh 14st 4 and am a size 18. However Feb 2011 I weighed over 20 stone and I believe this is the lightest I've been as an adult, I'd like to get down to around 12stone which would give me a healthy BMI

I'm 5'8" and 9st, size 8-10. Before DD it was 8st. I have lots of flab, though, so am amazed that people can be 10-20 kg more and not consider themselves large (ish).Having said that, I've got really small bones so perhaps any weight gain is more visible on me than on someone with a larger frame.

Emandlu · 22/11/2012 18:23

I am 5' 8.5" I am just the wrong side of 12 stone at the moment which puts me in a size 12. At 11 stone I am thin and get people asking me if I am ok as I seem very gaunt. At 11.5 stone I think I am about right. Currently I am definitely too big as I am uncomfortable in my clothes.

Report
ScaredySquirrel · 22/11/2012 18:36

around the same as you OP, smaller bust, lardier legs - so a size 14 below. I'm 6 months post baby though and hopefully will lose more once I stop breastfeeding (will usually be around a 32d bust) and tone up a bit. i don't seem to get below 11.4 but can get much fitter and am then a size 10 on top and a 12 below. I'm a column shape though with short legs (don't I sound attractive!).

I'd love to below 11st but haven't managed it for years. Having said that, for much of my 20s I was heavier.

I would prefer to be a size 10 myself.

I am something like 5' 7.75". Weight about 60-61 kg, which I think is a shade over 9.5 stone. I would look fat as heck with another 1-2 stone.

I wear size 8 trousers & 16 tops (not big boobs, broad shouldered & long bodied).

I hate eating if I'm stressed out or rushed, so will skip or delay meals instead.

I'm 5'7 (& a half!) and weigh 9st9. Size 12, sometimes 10.

I would be v fat at 11st 8. I have briefly been 10.5 stone and really looked chubby and had a fat belly.

9 stone 3, size 14 on top (broad shoulders), size 10 bottoms.

I do a lot of running which keeps the weight off.
