I think most designs look great on somebody (usually a tall, very slim, lithe-legged body)... I envy women who can pull off coloured tights with office wear, I can only just manage wine coloured tights with my black leather skirt and 14 hole Dr Martens. I have some gorgeous purple, navy and grey ones which just don't look right on me - I think it's because I'm quite short and very hourglassy, so they make me look a bit dumpy by drawing the eye down rather than up. I do still love fishnets though, and think they work wonderfully in deep colours on the rare occasions I can find them. Oddly (and sadly) lace tights look less than good on me.

I really wish patterned tights and brightly coloured fishnets had been around when I was a teenaged goth and could get away with them - back then the best I could do was over-the-knee stripy socks over black opaques or fishnets...
