Outfit needed for xmas meal out - please help!

Going out for an xmas lunch and then round town for afew drinks. Plan to wear black trousers but don't know what else! I need a nice top and a dressy jacket/coat. But I am a size 18, 5'4" and apple shaped. Any suggestions would be welcome ....please help me!

River island have some beautiful evening shawls in at the mo all velvety and sparkly here Get a nice plain top and wear one of these over, the black one is gorgeous I bought it for my SIL for her birthday and it looks great.
