Can I return a blusher to John Lewis?

Just a quick query!

Purchased a new Bobbi Brown blusher from John Lewis a few days ago. Am not convinced by it at all and am wondering if I can return it for a different one?

Does anyone know if I can do this?

If yes, then I doubt that you can return it.

If no, then I don't see why they can't exchange for you.

You can't return it if you've used it and just don't like it. You should have tried the tester. Its not as if they can sell it again once you've returned it.

Did they recommend that colour to you?

I'd be pretty surprised though to be honest because they can't re-sell it can they?

I don't think you can. Unless you had an allergic reaction as that can be taken up with the producer and the shop win't lose out.

If they recommended that colour and convinced you to buy it, yes. Take it back and say you're not happy. You were badly advised. Be prepared to fight your corner Otherwise no.

I'm not sure actually. You can return used make up to Clinique in Boots, so I assume the rest can as well.

You can return all used make up in the states. Annoys me you can't here, as so often you try it, use it for a couple of days and then notice it oxidises strangely on your cheeks.

Take it back and ask OP. The worst they can do is say no.

I have returned eye shadows to Bobbi Brown which I bought in store. They swapped them no problem.

You might strengtheen your case by phoning BB customer service and explaining why you don't like it and they will (I think) explain what to do at the store.

I said that the eye shadow looked completely different colour in daylight compared to the store. I have also exhcnaged their shimmer wash eye shadow because it made my eyes itch badly.

This is not a JL issue- they do not refund or exchange personal items like make up for hygiene reasons but if you are unhappy with the product for some reason goto the make up counter.

I know it's not the same store or type of product but I returned a No7 nail varnish after I had used it because it stained my nails. I had a refund.

Yes you can. Was in JL at the BB counter just yesterday and the lady says you can in JL but nowhere else.

Anyway, since posting, I've experimented with the blusher and I rather like it now, indeed, the past few days so many of my friends have actually commented on how lovely my make-up is, so am keeping it!

Well, I wanted to exchange sth in Boots (took a mascara instead of a clear eyelash/ brow gel) and the shop assistant made a huge song and dan e how they don't take back any make-up because they can't re-sell it and lose money on returns . she only took mine because you could see the label was off so I easily could have thought it was a clear and not black product.

I'd try it! Not exactly a cheap blusher.

Yeah, come on MYNAMEISJOANIE, answer the question would you? Why are we weirdos? I was recently at "the counters" and was told repeatedly by the SA what was BEST for me. By the time I'd bought it and gone back to my car, in daylight, I could see I was right and SHE was wrong. I went straight back in with the product and got a refund. The shade I'd been after WASN'T IN STOCK. Clearly, the SA wanted the sale. Had I tried the product myself and found it really wasn't right, I'd not hesitate to return it. These things are too expensive to just say..."ah well, won't wear it".

There's nothing weird (o) about wearing makeup. I used to work on a ward where a lady came in voluntarily to "do" the patients. It was frivolous and fun and brightened their day.

Can I take my no7 foundation back?

I did that colourmatch thing, it looked ok in store just on my cheek but when I put it on my whole face I looked orange!! Its awful!!
