Girls shoes/boots?

Where do you buy your girls shoes? DD is 4 and needs shoes/boots for winter.

I don't really like any of the clarks ones but find places like next tend to be a bit shabby quality. DD has a penchant for pink/sparkly vile things so I try to have a vague idea of what's in the store before we are over the threshold and at the mercy of her choice!

Any tips, I am a bit stuck.

I know you said you're not keen on Next but my DD has these ones, www.next.co.uk/x502722s7
they are lovely quality and go with loads of different outfits.

Ooh those are nice, as you say a good colour and look fairly sturdy. I may risk a trip to next!

They have a large childrens shoe section in my local TK Maxx but its always hit and miss what they have in. They had loads of winter boots this week

am marking my place here as I have the same dilemma - i think Clarks are very overpriced and aren't anything special. I usually take DD in there to get measured and then pretend there is nothing she likes or that she needs to go off to the loo or something and don't buy in there! Grin

I bought her some nice ones in Matalan last yr but they don't seem to have as much choice this year...

I actually got DDs in Jones' the other week. Tenner off, about £30. Which is more than I spend on my own shoes, but less than Clarks!

rocketupbum · 13/11/2012 17:43

Yes I am tempted to do the drive by measuring in clarks! I will maybe have a look at jones.

Debenhams seem to have a big selection of boots and a lot of them are reduced.

I have actually just purchased a foot measuring gauge off ebay for £6 so that I wont even need to visit Clarks anymore...

I bought boots for the children from Boden this year, but they're all out of stock for weeks now. I've found it difficult to find anything not embellished, buckles etc, just plain boots.

Pepe are lovely boots (and shoes) also, but are a little more expensive. Angulus is a nice brand too.

M&S did have some lovely red ones. I bought online from Amazon this year for all the dc as I couldn't face Clarks again! I think the quality and choice is better. Good links on this thread last month
