Need to return a coat by post - how best to pack it?

I bought a wool coat from Lands End and I'm not happy with it - the coat is lovely but it's just not me. It arrived in a humungous cardboard box and was wrapped in plastic. It's a long wool coat so quite bulky.

I don't have the original packaging anymore but all tags etc are still attached and I have the delivery note. Would it be ok to put it in a large plastic carrier bag and wrap in loads of brown paper?
