Spanx etc !

It is that time of year and short of smothering myself in butter and jumpin from the top of the stairs in to my Xmas dress I need help.
I am only 5'0" and a size 10/12 but most certainly an apple. I need some help to contain my belly but I want something that stays put.
Would that be a all in one or spanx with legs though conscious that the legs might be too long. Also as bodies go the legs are about the best part of me !
What brands do you recommend and what should I avoid ?

I think the higher power/super higher power spanx are ace if you can get away with them lengthwise. I find that shorter ones just tend to get a big bump underneath where they finish which doesn't happen with the spanx.

I think I will try them at the weekend ! Are they full bodied or are they just up to the tum and covering your legs ?

jen127 · 12/11/2012 19:52

Thank you ! I'll check them out !

I have not tried them personally, but those giant haystacks type spanx are supposed to be excellent. Really full coverage and straps which prevent the whole damn thing rolling down, and you can wear a proper bra.

Or, just try the butter thing instead!

I hate support underwear but a wrecked pelvis has made me look again. I bought the new Asda high waisted pants and they are amazing. Comfortable to wear, gave me a really nice line under my clothes and only £6. And no sore back Shock

The come right up past my belly button . They do body's and other types as well but only saw the pants in my branch. They have very fetching leopard skin panels on them Grin

cocolepew do they stay put or roll? and do you have a tummy ? If sow here does that go when you wear the pants do you end up with a roll ?

I've got an M&S 'wear your own bra' control slip, and it is brilliant - really smoothes me out from under the bust, no lumps, doesn't roll up/down, and its not a major exercise going to the loo. You could wear control pants underneath as well if you wanted for extra tummy control I guess

This is the Giant Haystacks control underwear I have heard so much about www.mytights.com/gb/brand/trinny-and-susannah/trinny-susannah-all-in-one-body-shaper.html. Thisis 40 quid, spanx do a version but it costs about 80 quid in Debenhams.
