Black shoe boot type thing?

I want something to go with skinny jeans... When it's too cold for pumps, and more dressy than mum biker boot.

Black or grey, s reasonable heel as I am a short arse and feel more "dressed" in heels, although not stiletto.. Something to wear for Saturday day in town or lunch out?

Have looked at the usual suspects but there seems to be a very fine line between shoe boot and mummsy ankle boot.

I had some of those trainer socks before it turned really cold now I wear with lacy pop sock type things. Look nicer than they sound!

I saw some high wedge ones in river island.

Bit too high for every day for me but nice for a night out.
