Return to Work Capsule Wardrobe...

Help please.. I'm returning to work after 20 months in maternity wear and then at home in my pyjamas. I get a full wage packet next month and want to blue some of it on a new work wardrobe before childcare costs kick in. I feel really out of touch but having pulled out my 2 years ago work wardrobe it seems really dated.

I'm 31, a size 8-10 and before my transformation into scruffy mum I wore lots of plain, tailored separates with a nod to fashion. I have lots of scarves and jewellery.

The dress code is business but I avoid suits, shift and wrap dresses which I have an irrational hatred for.

I have a lovely Calvin Klein winter coat, some good quality winter boots and a couple of lovely jackets but other than that I'm pretty much starting from scratch.

Any thoughts on what to buy? I have a maximum of £500 to spend... Thanks!

Dresses might become your friend as they are quick to throw on in the morning and you dont have to think about what goes with what :)
Failing that I would buy some nice tops, some good quality trousers and maybe a skirt or two. The easiest thing to do is to make sure it all mixes and matches and then you can add more items as time goes on. Have a look in places like zara and h and m for tops. HTH
