Comfy going out shoes!

I'm fast approaching 40, live in flats and am sick of my 'going out' shoes crippling me before I've even got to the end of my road! Can anyone recommend nice heels or shoe/boots that are comfortable? Is it true that more expensive brands are more comfortable? Oh wise style and beauty ladies please help!

I've just bought these. They look really beautiful on and look great with dresses or skinnies. They are so comfortable - I struggle with heels because of a foot problem and these are fine for me. Do a wide fitting too.
