Can I have a perm? Do they still exist?

I've been using curlers (Babyliss hot sticks) for a year now. What they do for my hair is great, I've gone from fine, limp hair prone to oiliness to a bouncy moptop that doesn't need washing every other day.

Consequentially I am a slave to the curlers every five days. I was wondering if it would be possible to have a perm so that I didn't have to dodge the neighbours and stay in so often to avoid the Ena Sharples look?

The last I knew about perms was my mum getting one in the 70's. Please. I don't want to look like that.

Yes they still exist:) Go to a good hairdresser tho!

My DD2 who is 18 has her waist length hair spiral permed and it looks amazing! And of course because no one has perms any more everyone assumes hers is natural Grin

Wow. A spiral perm sounds good. How long does one last?
