Teeth Whitening, has anyone had it done?

Im going to a proper dentist for it, its bleaching over 2 weeks

I would love it but my teeth got sore after whitening toothpaste and a sonic brush! Friend had it done though and she really looks younger almost in teh league of botox .Am soooo envious

Not being dismissive but if you search for threads on this there are loads- comes up all the time.

It made mine 50% whiter.
Cost £400 from dentist ( who then had a 50% off offer a while later
Teeth were sensitive for a day if I used the gel on consecutive days so did it every other day and NOT overnight.
Had some gum bleeding where the gel oozed out of the trays- you have to be very careful not to overfill as even a tiny drop can burn the gums.

They said they provide the gum sheilds and 8 syringes which last 16 days.
Then you can buy extra syringes at £10 each which they said may be needed just twice a year

I have had it done twice and have been very happy with the results. Once I had it done in one sitting at the dentists. The other time I had it done at a teeth whitening place. I paid £100 each time both were 'special promotions'
My teeth were not at all sensitive although both times I asked them not to make them too white. I was delighted with the results although they were not radically different as my teeth are naturally fairly white. It is uncomfortable when you have it done but not too bad.
I plan on doing it every few years. I don't do any other beauty treatments except visiting the hairdressers.

On day 6 of a 20 day whitening programme now. Am using the crest whitening strips professional effects, around the £50 mark, can clearly see a difference already. I dont smoke, teeth were creamy-yellowy.
noddy I suffer with sensitive teeth as well, quite badly at times. About a month prior to whitening my teeth I switched to the colgate t/paste for sensitive teeth (thinks its pro-relief) and used a fluoride mouthwash as well (and continue to use same after whitening).
I can honestly safe I've had zero problems. No zingers, no ache, nada. Gums have been a bit sore but that's it/

What I don't get about the Crest strips is how they whiten the whole of your tooth. If you use the trays from the dentists they are custom made. This means that the bleach covers all your tooth from the gum line to the biting edge, and across the tooth as well.

The trays you wear with bleach in, bleach the sides of your molars in the upper and bottom jaw. If you use strips surely the bleach is just along the front edge of your teeth and not all round- 3D effect? And if your teeth overlap or are uneven ( mine are) how does the strip lie flat so that all the tooth is covered in the beach?

I get what you're saying.
My uppers are reasonably straight, lowers are most certainly NOT, overlapped and crooked. The strips are very adhesive (dry teeth with a towel first to further aid adhesion), once lightly in place I start from the middle and use my nail to push the strip into the [numerous ] crevices, and hold each tooth section in place as I press strip down firmly working from centre outward. Once the strips are in place I hold them down for maybe 30secs; they're stuck firmly after that.

Given my sensitivity problems I didnt want to pay a hefty sum only to find I couldn't tolerate the H/peroxide - the strips have meant I've paid a fraction of the cost with a result I'm [thus far!] happy with :)

The other point is that the dentist assesses your teeth and gums and decides which strength is suitable for your teeth ( colour and condiiton.) My dentist gave me 22% which is quite s trong but that is because my teeth are naturally creamy- yellow ( yuck) whereas if I'd bought stuff over the web I'd have no idea what to buy and would probably have gone for a lower strength.
