which colour would you get it you got it?
It is more than I would be able to afford without a bigger discount, BUT it is cashmere and considering how much some supermarkets sell scratchy cashmere for, I don't think it is so expensive for what it is.

Ok, i'll be the voice of reason here. £150 on a scarf is just insane!!!! its a scarf!

And stars are a bit meh.

VIX1980 · 28/10/2012 11:27

Haha@ soggy* No i agree its far too much to spend on a scarf for me anyway, and if my cats ever decided to sit on and claw it to bits like they have the expensive throw i bought last year and told my oh it cost a tenner then i think i may just throw myself under a train for spending that much on a scarf.

Plan for today is a lazy day on the couch with a teething 4 month old so ill have hours to search for a cheaper one.

thouhgt id found one before on a site called french blossom that i liked but just before i entered my card number reaslised its a kids site so would probably be bg enough to wear as a headband!

NettoSpookerstar · 28/10/2012 11:30

Do link if you can find one for a tenner cheaper, cos I'd like one too.

VIX1980 · 28/10/2012 14:22

Ok i finally went with this one cheaper scarf so i can eat

worked out at £31 then i found a discount code which is EBABEES, Gave me 10% off so i paid £25 altogether. Not the one i wanted but i just couldnt pay £150 for a scarf!

with that reasoning and saving i treated myself to a coat, after all really ive just saved £130 Grin

Oh and if anyone wants to buy it and thinks its for kids i emailed to ask how big it was its 55cm by 135cm, big enough for an adult!

I love that scarf!

I have just ordered this as there is no way i could spent over £100 on an accessory.

digerd · 28/10/2012 14:43

Well I'm not buying it, as don't like it for me - and that price- no way !!

MsArseBiscuit · 28/10/2012 14:43

At least you didn't want this one www.willowcashmere.com/cashmere-wraps-and-scarves/cashmere-glitter-shawl.html like I do now. Arsing Nora.

digerd · 28/10/2012 14:44

Cashmere itches me, anyway, got very sensitive skin.

VIX1980 · 28/10/2012 14:52

msarsebiscuit - i also saw that 1 and was thinking of buying a cashmere scarf then getting some sequinned glittery fabric from haberdashery dept and sewing it all on, when you think thats all they've done isnt it?

(clearly been watching gok far too much, but i am a dressmaker so i always look for the way to make it first before deciding if i can or just buy it quickly)

hush Star Scarf

CajaDeLaMemoria · 28/10/2012 14:57

It's worth noting here that NOTHS charge outrageous prices because they take a big cut, and so the actual maker gets significantly less.

I was contacted about joining, but there is a good reason they keep their fees quiet. You need to significantly increase prices to be able to get your investment back. It's a lovely shop front, though, so it's tough to turn down if you are a small business.

PixieHot · 28/10/2012 15:00

That's true Caja - I found something lovely on NOTHS recently, then managed to get it for much cheaper (cheaper anyway, plus discount) from the original seller.

MsArseBiscuit · 28/10/2012 15:08

VIX, that's clearly because I'm a mindless fool, easily seduced by glittery stuff and you're creative and talented. ( I'd have to glue it )

VIX1980 · 28/10/2012 15:13

msarse cashmere scarf + sequin fabric. cut it to size for each end of scarf, tack it on or use wunder web to hold it in place, then go round the edges with a sewing needle or beg someone else to do it for you.

even look for cashmere scarf on ebay, ive just seen some for around £10

saving = around £200 Smile

VIX1980 · 28/10/2012 15:15

pixie i do like that scarf, theres a very strong chance that i could end up with quite few star scarves at this rate, it will give my oh something to strangle me for spending money i shouldnt be once again!

caja i thought the same as you so went to their own website but of course they are not stupid so have had to charge the same price as noths.

may come back in the january sales to get it though! Smile

SoggyMoggy · 28/10/2012 15:18

I think I actually like the scarf you decided to go with better than the more expensive ones, VIX. Good find!

crazybutterflylady · 28/10/2012 19:49

Wow that's gorgeous OP. I asked DH if I could have it and he said for that money he'd like the scarf to massage his shoulders and maybe tickle his balls :( so I will just have to lust from afar. I think you should just buy it on behalf of all of us!

nametakenagain · 31/10/2012 22:53

Vix, you are a star.
