I had my colours analysed yesterday and it appears that I am very definitely an autumn. It was really interesting, particularly as I was very drawn to those colours at the start and the analysis confirmed it. It explains why I already buy quite a bit of teal and loathe pastels :)

The colours that I should particularly buy are apparently marine navy, chocolate brown, teal and mustard. She also suggested I start experimenting with green as they looked surprisingly good on me and I own nothing in green apart from some Converse!

I also should be buying lots of oyster as my basic vests etc. rather than the white I tend to have but not sure where to get that as lots of shops just talk about off white or cream and it's not clear online whether they are oyster or not.

Any top tips on where to buy a few basics in these colours, plus any particularly lovely things you've bought this season?

Also any hints on make up colours? My consultant doesn't do the whole make up selling thing herself but she has a few Jane Fardon to explain what works. She got me to try some lipsticks and it turns out that I have been wearing completely the wrong colour for years (way too pink) - explains why I think I hate the stuff! Anyway, Jane Fardon garnet red looked great on me - I was really surprised how much I liked myself in lipstick for once - so I ordered some online. But now I'm looking for other ideas of colours of lipsticks, blushers, eyeshadows, mascaras to check out in the shops as I really don't know how to choose from the gazillions on offer.

I'm a Devon HoC consultant Iodine pm me if you want to know where I am.

Colour analysis process involves holding up drapes to see whether you suit blue based or yellow based (cool or warm) colours, and then where you sit within that (summer/winter or spring/autumn). Then talking about various things like hair colour/how to shop with your colours/how to wear them, how to dress with authority without black if it doesn't suit you and so on and so on.

I am a v pale autumn, fwiw Nickel. Most people think I would be a winter.
