Do your dc like Hollister?

Me and dd are just finding our way with trendy clothes shops as she's never been that interested before now. She's 11.

We we out shopping yesterday and decided to have a peek in Hollister. I was prepared for the darkness, small rooms and not being able to see what you're buying etc lol....but I didn't know they are so expensive! Saw some lovely fleece-lined hoodies for 70 pounds!! They were lovely though.

Do your dc shop there and if so, do you limit what they buy because of the cost? Or only for Xmas/birthdays? Thought the t-shirts v poor quality.

I have a niece that likes it. I get her the occasional hoody for xmas or birthdays but I do meen occasional because I resent having to spend a fortune in a dark smelly cave full of posing twats.

Only buy sale items

I have bought things for my dc for birthday and Christmas presents. I usually check the sale shelves first! I have always found the t-shirts wash and wear really well.

Just got a lovely Hollister shirt for fifteen quid on ebay.

I don't have any teenagers or older DC, my eldest is 5, but I had a look in there for myself for the first time the other month.

Why is it so dark in there? You can hardly see the clothes it's that dark! I had a pushchair with me and I kept driving it into things!

my ds loves the brand and to give him his due he saves up and buys it himself. i cant see whats so special about it truthfully as the quality seems no different than cheaper brands. it does amaze me though that teens want to wear something emblazoned with the logo when colostomy bags are made by a company with a very similar name

Ds1 is 15 and like Hollister. He goes to the US with his dad and siblings a few times a year so tends to buy there and use discovered the sale shelves at the back if the store. Handy for picking up tops for him that I know he will wear. Also his bargain chinos £24 instead of £48.
They do wash and wear well, the tops he has that are a couple if years oukd look the same as the new ones.

My DD has a few tops from Hollister, but will only go in if someone else is paying, not if she has to spend her own money!

Sports direct often has lots of hollister tops lots cheaper than the shop and without the crazy delivery prices of the hollister website.

I only buy things in the sale when some of the better quality tops come down to a reasonable price.

There's always stuff on ebay as well.

Yes DD 10 loves Hollister, Gilly Hicks, and Abercrombie.

I buy some in the sale online when there's an offer on for cheap delivery but DD enjoys the whole experience of the stores and having a photo taken with the lifeguards. I can only stand about 20 minutes in there though.

Yes I know what you mean, after only TEN minutes dd got cabin fever and had to get out!

Made me laugh though - I asked one of the assistants if a hoodie was black or navy and she told me they don't sell black! So you can be guaranteed in the dim light that anything that resembles a darkish colour is NOT black lol!

DS1 used to work there

The older ones are kind of fed up with it now. My youngest is 14 and still loves it.

No mine don't. They don't like Jack Wills, Super Dry or anything else of that ilk. They prefer to wear things that they are unlikely to bump into every other teen wearing!
