dark circles under eyes.

All of a sudden, I have noticed dark circles under my eyes. Worse on one side (under right eye) than other. I really need to do something.

So S&B - what is the best concealer, powder, etc etc to help magic these horrors away. Honestly, when I tilt my head down and look in mirror it is ghoulish.

I have touche eclat and it helps, but its a highlighter not a mask miracle cure.

Where and why have I got circles now?

Depending on your age (ie if you have wrinkles/crows feet on the area) - Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer is great. It lasts a long time. If you get one that is close to your skintone, apply, allow it to dry down, then put the touche eclat over that it should help them disappear.
I'm now too old to do that successfully as the crepey skin under my eyes looks worse than the dark circles, so I use Ellis Faas Concealer ££££ unfortunately. Available at Liberty and Space NK. It's a lightweight concealer that does help but doesn't cover them like Method 1 detailed above.

I first noticed them when I was about 35, they have definitely got worse as I've got older and TBH nothing really covers them completely. But I'm very fair skinned so yours may not be as bad.

Bobbi Brown corrector in a peachy/orange tone. little goes a long way as v thick and can settle into lines (especially if used with their BB creamy concealer). go to a counter and get matched for the right shade. I think Benefit Erase paste is similar too

I use Bobbi Brown corrector which comes in loads of shades . I am pale and I think dark circles look worse on fair skin. It really helps to take the grey away and I use a light reflecting concealer on top, a Benefit one currently.

I'm 31 and I think mine got worse after being sleep deprived after DD was born a few years ago!

I am Asian and unfortunately dark pigmented under eye circles are v common so I had no chance BB corrector is the only product that when layered correctly with my regular concealer and highlighter makes me look human!

I've been using that new Clinique under eye thingy for a month. it's shit, don't bother

I agree about the Clinique -the Even Better Dark Circles Corrector ? Total waste of money.

The BB Corrector,I agree that it's brilliant as long as you go to a counter and take their advice on the shade. The problem for me is again, due to aging, after using it for a couple of years absolutely fine, once I hit my mid 40's I was finding it was just creeping into not so fine lines and looking worse than the dark circles.
Some of the the shades are very scary. I think mine was called something Bisque and it's decidedly orange/salmon pink but it definitely neutralises the blue/grey.

Yes Babbling - utter crap sparkly shite. Am annoyed I spent over £25 on it grr. And yes, I find the BB corrector can creep into lines, though if I sparingly use either MAC prep & prime powder or ELF's High Definition powder (both silicone based) rather than the BB Powder I get less creases?

OP - have a look at Liz Earle's new concealers. Her Touché Éclat copy was lovely teamed over my concealer.

I use Soap and Glory Kick Ass concealer. I've tried touché éclat and loads of others and have found this to be the only one that works. Can't remember how much it costs but won't be as much as many of the other stick-type ones.

Now this could be a load of crap but I was told once that dark circles under the eyes can be a sign that you don't drink enough water.

thanks. I put on my estee lauder double wear light today, with a little benefit primer (that gal) underneath and circles arent too bad. I am 38teen and it has only been the past few months I am noticing them.

Touche Eclat used to work on its own, but not now.

I saw a bunch of eye stuff in Benefit but wasnt sure how good it was. Any benefit users?

aphra I drink loads of water, think this is hereditary as my older sister has these too. I think the skin under our eyes is thin and veins etc show up as purpleish bruises. It isnt 'that' bad but I have noticed it much more recently.

If you are pale, fake tan works wonders. If you are not pale then sorry nil constructive to add!
FWIW I think all topical products are a total waste of cash and healthy living/sleep make the most difference (but sadly not much). Ts one of those luck of the draw things.
Worth wearing high heels though cos they look better from below than above!

I use benefit Boi-ing under my eyes which is nice and matte (I am 40 in a few wks) and doesn't sink into any lines.

Boring stuff loads and loads of water and exercise, cuttting out sugar (including white carbs) helps enormously.

I have been using the Clinique thing for 5 weeks and think it is amazing, I am so impressed.

Actually I find the bog standard Rimmel concealer works rather well, especially considering the cost. I've been using it for decades

jack I am happy to use anything that works! S&B isnt about how expensive, its about products that work. If Rimmel works then I say go for it!

I used to use touché éclat but it has so little pigment I now prefer maybelline's dream lumi touch and it is fab (and cheap!).

I use benefit erase paste as a corrector. You only need a tiny bit so the pot lasts absolutely ages. After primer that's the first thing I put on my face, then foundation over the top (EL double wear). Often that does the trick for dark circles but if not quite, then a few dots of EL double wear concealer blended over the top as well will do it for me. I also like the Laura Mercier concealer but EL is a bit cheaper and lasts longer, whereas Laura m occasionally needing topping up in the day.

I find drinking a bit more water helps to some extent, but what does make a visible difference to my dark circles is simply tapping with your ring finger from the corner of your eye outward a few times morning and night.
The Bobbi Brown corrected/concealer looked great when the counter girl did it, but I always ended up with it caking up when I did it at home

ooh I have a loooooong shopping list for tomorrow! If you see someone with 27 million layers of 'stuff' under her eyes, but no dark circles you will know it is me.
