What's the etiqutte with brown boots and black jeans/trousers

Having spent most of my life on converse I have no idea of the rules with boots.

Are brown boots ok with black jeans?

I think it depends on the exact brown of the boots, and the exact black of the jeans. Links to both?

I say it is fine, unless there are too many other colours going on.

I think it is perfectly okay as long as both are saturated colours rather than faded. Tan, chocolate and mid-brown all work fine with a solid black.

You can wear whatever you like but I think black jeans look best with black boots.

I like black jeans with a light or dark tan boot, but brown - I'm not too sure! I'd be more likely to wear brown with a colour like teal or brick red. Black boots with black jeans looks much smarter.

It's blue jeans and black boots that's dodgy, unless navy.

So what colour should be worn with blue jeans?

browns, greys, greens or blues...neutral / stone type color. rust/reds.
anything but black...

I pretty much always wear black boots with jeans. I prefer them to brown with blue jeans.

I think it depends upon the boots, the jeans and the outfit as a whole. I wear brown boots with black skinnies sometimes and an animal print scarf and all is good. But if I had some other string colours going on then I would stick with black boots.

I personally don't do black boots with jeans as it makes me feel like a copper. Nothing wrong with that per se but not the look I'm generally after!

Coppers don't wear jeans where I live! They wear all black.
