I just painted my nails grey...

UterusUterus :) I wasn't hopeful at all just kind of got it to try but it is a nice change. I don't look dead at all I promise!

Now, I'm off to shop for those recommendations. Some lovely colours there.

I asked up thread too but if anyone can recommend a nice Navy not too dark but one that actually looks Navy not black IYKWIM.

So, after reading this thread last night I painted my nails a pale grey - I borrowed it off my daughter. It's an OPI polish, not sure what colour. I now look like I have dead hands, so I hope that a darker grey would be better for me?

Ooh agatha, that's no good! Pinch yourself to make sure you're not dead.

What's your colouring like? Try a darker one alright maybe.

Boots 17 Smoke Signal is a gorgeous grey for those who generally look a little corpse-like with greys and beiges. IMO it has elements of teal and blue in the blend so is a warm deep grey. It is a cheapy but it has lasted an entire week chip-free which is pretty good going as I am an artist so my nails take a battering with paints, inks, dyes and hand washing etc.

I should also add that I use Creative Nails Top Coat to seal my polish. It isn't cheap but it increases the staying power and gives a lovely long-lasting high shine finish.

I had the Rimmel Grey Matter last autumn and i got compliments every time I wore it. It goes on really easily too.

Try W7 Midnight Blue for a nice navy that doesn't look black.

Today I have No17 Sulk which is a dark teal-y sort of colour. Very Autumn/Winter :)

I bought a cheap 'greige' from Asda of all places. It looks lovely on short nails. It was a couple of pounds, and lasts ok, especially for the price.

Girls, this thread and buying the grey, prompted me into opening my nail varnish drawer.
I am now sporting Urban Purple

I'm lunching with friends tomorrow and fancied brightening up. It looks darker on me than that link.
