Booked in for a Brazilian. Do I really just rock up with a full on bush, then? And they will really just wax it all off, give or take a landing strip? Will I cry?

Don't you all get given the paper disposable ones?

Mine tells mr to put them on backwards

Then she waxes my bum crack Confused
I asked her. She said its psychological. It makes you feel better if you wear the flimsy, paper pants that then get pushed/ shoved/ pulled up/ down. Really she sees EVERYTHING even my pile the pants serve no purpose

Camelsshouldnteatcrisps · 15/10/2012 20:44

Very true MrsCampbell , I'm not sure that they did. I could/should probably stop wearing big pants now (I have lost quite a bit of weight but still see my old size in the mirror iyswim).

JudeFawley · 15/10/2012 22:21

It doesn't hurt.

I slightly grit my teeth on labia bits though - everywhere else is a doddle.

Knickers off.

FamiliesShareGerms · 15/10/2012 22:34

But...but...but....why?? Genuine question, but I really don't understand (near) total pubic hair removal

I asked a similar question a while back, and one poster explained how it was much more hygienic for her, but apart from that scenario, why remove your pubic hair?

Drywhiteplease · 15/10/2012 22:39

Don't go when you're pre me steal...it hurts more, you'll cry and you may accidentally kick therapist as I did!Blush but Grin

Drywhiteplease · 15/10/2012 22:40

Bloody predictive text....meant premenstral

Adviceinscotland · 16/10/2012 08:28

Families- I just like it like that. No great reason. Sex feels better as well, more sensitive when i can feel dh next to my skin rather than hair iykwim. Get fed up with shaving though which is why I was asking all the questions.

(please don't let's now go down the dh being a secret pedophile route)

cynister · 16/10/2012 08:40

I use Tendskin on my Fanjo after waxing. It feels soothing and helps avoid tiny bumps. My lovely waxer has me get on all fours to wax my bum. I was mortified in the beginning when she showed me how much hair I had sprouting from my bum..

nellyjelly · 16/10/2012 08:44

You are all bloody mad!

MaBaya · 16/10/2012 11:49

Oh its all off anyway. I got my period this morning Grin

MrsCampbellBlack · 16/10/2012 14:53

You can still get it done - the woman I see just asks you put a fresh tampon in right beforehand [tmi]

Minty82 · 16/10/2012 15:00

No way MrsCampbellBlack?!!!

Meglet · 16/10/2012 16:05

The thought of accidentally having a tampon string waxed makes me wince.

I've solved the embarrassment factor by doing my own brazillians.

MrsCampbellBlack · 16/10/2012 16:15

Well you either get it done on your period or pay the cancellation fee - I know which I do [tight]

Adviceinscotland · 16/10/2012 16:40

What wax do you use meglet?

AlwaysWantingMore · 16/10/2012 21:15

Bloody hell. I am feeling an odd mix of awe at how brave you lot are and perplexed at why the hell you would bother with it. So hair grows in my bumhole...

Meglet · 16/10/2012 21:27

The Veet microwaveable one (currently has a pink lidded pot and for reasons beyond me they have added a scent). It's also washable so you can hop in the shower if you wimp out.

I just buy a metre of cotton from the fabric shop (which lasts ages), cut up loads of different sized strips, then get to work crouching over a mirror on the bathroom floor. I find it easier to spend 15 mins doing the front one day (neat triangle) then all the underneath and back Blush the next. I've been doing it for 10yrs now, even so it didn't take too long to get to grips with it.

It's easier to do small strips of hair at a time IME. Almost plaster sized as you can get a good grip with the wax and still hold the skin taut.

Maybe my pain threshold is stupidly high, but it really doesn't hurt much. I had to take it all off at the front for an operation once and that bloody hurt.

Binfullofmaggotsonthe45 · 16/10/2012 21:40

I absolutely love getting a wax. I like the sensation and the sound.

I love the way you feel afterwards and it just makes me feel fresh and clean.

To do my undercarriage and hairy cheeks the beautician asks me to hug my knees. I leave my pants on, but wear a thong, or paper.

The biggest fear I think should be flatulence.

A beautician doesn't have to offer the service if she/he doesn't want to do it.

Icelollycraving · 17/10/2012 08:12

I trained 20 years ago when you just did the sides. I feel v sorry for the current therapists waxing people's cracks.
