I'm looking for a Sweater Dress

Just that really. I fancy a sweater dress for winter. Don't have a lot of time to look around (but do have time to MN Hmm).

I'm usually a 12, quite pear shaped, fair hair, sallowish skin, so i find greys/pinks/blues look best. Not averse to a tasteful bit of sparkle.

Can anyone steer me in the right direction?

TIA.

I got a lovely one last year from (whispers) White Stuff. Wore it a lot so its a bit bobbly now but really did like it for wearing with skinny jeans/leggings.

lurkingaround · 15/10/2012 11:48

what do you think of this IRO one? Too short?
What are their sizes like?

Will look at White Stuff (sshh) now. Thanks.

This one looks cosy.

I will probably wear a belt with whatever dress. As without one, because of the hip (pear) situation, I would look, as a MNer put it recently, like a pyramid.

I love the jumper dresses I have from ASOS, which tend to be oversized so very cosy. They are very reliable and good quality considering mine cost around £20 each. You might see some you like here.

lurkingaround · 15/10/2012 11:59

This one?
Shame about all the holes in it. Makes it look very a bit see-through.

Thanks Hyva.
This whistles one looks nice, but a bit more than I wanted to spend.
Anyone have it? Worth the spend?

THIS SITE MIGHT HELP

rockinhippy · 15/10/2012 12:47

Blush - no it won't, I somehow managed to post it on the wrong thread Confused - please ignore my link

Tuttutitlookslikerain · 15/10/2012 13:32

This one is really lovely on. I've got it in Navy, it is very flattering.

NettoSpookerstar · 15/10/2012 13:44

That is lovely on, I have it in grey, am wearing again today, with thin black belt, black opaques, grey flat biker type boots and a green cropped denim military coat.

Chandon · 15/10/2012 13:59

yes but only if you're a size 18

minipie · 15/10/2012 15:07

Crumpet Outlet has vair posh cashmerey ones heavily reduced

lurkingaround · 15/10/2012 15:07

Yes, I saw that one before, sold out in Navy. It is lovely but only 80cm long, and while I will be wearing opaques etc with it, I still think it's too short.

Will keep looking and posting. Thanks everyone.

Oh thankyou minipie!

Am at work so only had a quick glance. Will have a good look later, looks very promising indeed.

Also saw a link on another thread to the Boden cable knit dress in merino wool which looks lovely. Fit & flare shape so perfect for pears.

WillSingForCake · 15/10/2012 15:58

I just bought a lovely one from Sainsbury's!

QueenBeebread · 15/10/2012 16:35

I love mine from COS.

MissBeehivingUnderTheMistletoe · 15/10/2012 16:36

I have this one which is lovely and not as short on me (5ft5)

SucksFake · 15/10/2012 16:38

This is a bargain on House of Fraser Ebay store.

This looks quite nice on French Connection Ebay outlet.

Woozley · 15/10/2012 16:39

I got two from Sainsbury's, one in dark blue and one in beige/brown.

SucksFake · 15/10/2012 16:39

This even!

lurkingaround · 15/10/2012 21:05

I like the look of the French connection one but don't like the back. Deep V.
Really like the Kenneth Cole one but they say the listing has ended, shame, it's lovely.
The LaRedoute one is nice MissB, it does look short on the model. I'm 5'6". Any heat in it?
And I love the Cos one, I tried it on, when I was shopping alone (sharp intake of breath!), but my mahoosive hips got in the way of the line of it. And I didn't think of a belt with it, think it would look odd with a belt anyway.

All the Crumpet outlet are size S.

The hunt continues.
Anyone like this Kookai one?

This one?. I like it, but feck all wool in it and big obvious stripes on my behind doesn't fill me with thrill. I like it tho.

OP posts:
lurkingaround · 15/10/2012 21:11

Or This one is a distinct possibility, again bloody viscose but I may have to just put up with feck all wool in my elusive sweater dress.
