They were invented as one religion (Jewish Orthodox?) believes that when Jesus comes back down to earth, he will be born to a man. The trousers are like that so that the baby will not just fall out. Raises two questions: why will they not even allow us the sanctity of childbirth? And how little do men appreciate the pain of childbirth, that they would miss being in labour?
