Nice white tops / t'shirts

I wear a lot of white tops but I shop mostly online due to living in a rura area. My current ones have retty much died a deat. Can anyonne recommend any around at the moment, perhaps long-sleeved ones as winter is coming.

I have tried very hard to like this, but I don't quite like it on for some reason I can't put my finger on. I think because it's off white not white.

No recommendations, but you're right not to like the boden peasant blouse. Very blah. I love a long sleeved scoop necked t shirt tho.

LaTrucha · 10/10/2012 21:37

Me too. I gt one in an ideal shape from Mistral but the fabric just didn't last so I don't want to buy another.

Yes. It was blah.

m.gap.eu/product.html?dn=gp000243207003&pdn=search gap t's are nice...

LaTrucha · 10/10/2012 21:41

It looks nice but raoyn and 'slinky' in the description of a white t'shirt make me think 'see through'.

Gah I'm fed up of country life...

Ah, am also a fan of layering so naturally have a white vest in mind to go underneath most things.

LaTrucha · 11/10/2012 07:18

A solo whit etop is a hard thing to find.

Thanks anyway!

The white company do lovely and very good quality tops I have had mine for years and they wash well. Worth waiting or buying when they have free delivery offers.

LaTrucha · 11/10/2012 08:33

Thanks for that. I'll have a look.

I agree with you on so many things ... rural life and its impact on one's shopping habit, blah - ness of that Boden top and the see throughness of the Gap one (tried the Gap pure body one a couple of days ago and its tracing paper thin). I can recommend the Boden essential scoop neck white one (its sold out now in smaller sizes but will be back next season) www.boden.co.uk/en-GB/Womens-Tops-T-shirts/Long-Sleeved-Tops/WL664/Womens-Essential-Scoop-Neck-Tee.html
But I bought this one last week from Gap online and its good. I find their 100% cotton ones a bit rubbish as they stretch and lose their shape during the day but this works and isn't see through www.gap.eu/browse/product.do?cid=57349&vid=1&pid=000245389&scid=000245389000. It is white too - what that has to do with dragon flies I don't know. 25 % off today with 'GAPSTYLE'
Hobbs also can have good ones but my most recent is a few years old (they last). And I agree with White Company quality although they only had crew necks or short sleeves when I last checked.

LaTrucha · 11/10/2012 10:10

Fabulous. Thanks. I knew I'd find fellow souls on here!

What's the sizing like on the Boden one? I have found their sizes enormous recently - or at least very unpredictable. I have had sizes 12s from them in the past but have even had to send back 10s recently. And that is not a stealth boast: I am not a 10.

OP posts:
LaTrucha · 11/10/2012 10:18

Never mind I'm giving it a punt in a 12.

OP posts:
Sonotkylie · 11/10/2012 11:21

For the essential scoop t shirt I get a 10, most other tops I am a 12 in Boden and elsewhere. I am normally a 12 although quite narrow with FF norks so it can vary a bit. Sorry for delay - had to walk the dog! If you find any others in your travels let us know!

LaTrucha · 11/10/2012 11:47

I will. I have a slim frame with a bigger chest too so a 10 is probably right. Bum.

Sonotkylie · 11/10/2012 13:47

Try the 12 to be getting along with? They have a bit of stretch so might not be too huge (that is logical but doesn't sound it). The good thing is they always have them so its only a few months until the next lot. I've been wearing them for years and get a couple a year as the white gets grubby after a lot of washing/ tumble drying.

AWimbaWay · 11/10/2012 14:40

Feather and Bone sadly the carly top is sold out, I really wanted one, but I'm tempted by the others too.

LaTrucha · 11/10/2012 15:17

It's very pretty but a bit out of my price range. Thanks.

I have ordered the 12. We'll see!

There are some very promising looking ones in Jigsaw, but I'm going to wait on my Boden one.

There's a nice white merino jumper at Gap Wink

Oooo, thank you

Iatemyskinnyperson · 12/10/2012 18:47

H&M vest tops are very good- nice & long, good fabric. I have tons of them. I'm talking about the ones with the 1/2 in strap (more like a wifeb**ter, sorry, hate that word) not the camisole ones.

Their long sleeved tees are good too.

LaTrucha · 12/10/2012 20:07

Good to know. Thanks.

Boden tee very good! Thanks.

Great. I need another so may give the 12 a whirl too
