Help me please!! Turning 40 in a couple of weeks and planning a big bash - but nothing to wear.... where did all the decent dresses disappear to??!

Looking for something sophisticated but a bit edgy, sexy but not tarty....any ideas? At this stage I don't care how much it costs! I'm tall and size 12/14

Have you looked on John Lewis website? Free returns so you can order a few things and just send back what you don't keep. I loved this (not a dress but...) ,but didn't get it as I live overseas and couldn't return it if I didn't like it.

I've ordered this for my 40th in Dec Lularoo - although I think it may come under 'tarty' - there are some fab dresses on this site though.
